I don't think it's wise to keep your feelings bottled up, BUT it's also not wise to spew them out every chance you get. Some things have to be personal, and while a diary is meant to be just that, it isn't always the case.
Good for you that you kept your confusion to yourself. I wonder how much damage has been done to young people who share their confusion when they are young and then find they have to deal with members of their family who are more fearful and confused then they are.

Exactly, and the fear spreads to kids the same age to teachers. People start making opinions on you before you've made them yourself. Before you jump into the fray of all that, I think you should at least know 100% what you are. Then when all that drama comes, you're ready for it.

All I can do it admire you for knowing who you are. Most people struggle to get there in the whole of their lifetime. You've done it in a much shorter time.

But agreed, biggest thing for kids is fear. We seem to have this terrible tendency to pass judgment on that which we fear. Wish we could stay babies for ever in our thinking - not loose that when we become aware and conscious of one another? Seems as though we grow uglier in our thinking from the time we start to learn and become aware

Anne Frank's diary was edited by her father for privacy reasons. Anne Frank is not meant to be a history book for the holocaust... It clearly says that this book was written before the dutch made a radio announcement to all jews stating they should document stuff during the war. Anne always wanted to be a writer, this diary was also edited by herself as well when she heard the radio broadcast as well.

Miss Frank's handwriting was closely analyzed by experts, as were specimens of her writing and those by 78 of her classmates. The experts took into account that sometimes Miss Frank used normal cursive lettering and sometimes a disconnected printing style. This is a common characteristic ''applicable to the writing of young people,'' the experts said. Samples of her writing are included in the book to support their conclusion that the diary was indeed written by Anne Frank alone. The Forensic Science Laboratory report also points out that the paper, ink and glue in the diary and some of her accompanying loose sheets all existed in the early 1940's, before Miss Frank and her family were betrayed in their hiding place in Amsterdam and sent away to concentration camps. The glue and fibers used in the binding of the diaries were analyzed by infrared spectrometry. Both were found in common use when Miss Frank wrote her diary. After 1950, a different kind of synthetic glue came into use. Similarly, the paper used in the diary was examined by X-ray fluorescence and found to have been manufactured between 1939 and 1942. Mainly, Miss Frank used a gray-blue ink for fountain pens in which iron was clearly present. At the time, the report states, ink with a strong iron content was in general usage. Only after 1950 were inks with much less or no iron introduced, the study said.
