Good News From Miami!

Just got back from Miami all the way down to Coral Gables, and contrary to David's assertion that Miami "falling into the sea", I can happily
report the town is doing quite fine. In fact, many, many new skyscrapers are under construction, rather than mass evacuation!!!

LOL!!! Turns out Miami flooding (due to global warming) is FAKE news!!!

And David fell for it, hook, line, & sinker!!!

Environmental activists again made the dubious claim that Miami Beach floods with high tide, and with it, they posted a picture purporting to show flooding during high tide.

It turns out, Miami Beach doesn’t flood with every high tide, and the picture is actually of flooding after a heavy rainstorm.

“It’s hard to ignore climate change in South Florida, what with the city streets that flood at high tide,” Katie Herzog, of the global warming alarmist site Grist, wrote Friday.

Miami Beach Public Relations Manager Melissa Berthier told The Daily Caller News Foundation that “flooding only happens during ‘king tides,'” which take place around April and October. She did go on to say that if enough rain falls during high tide, light flooding can occur. But reiterated floods do not happen as a normal occurrence during Miami Beach’s high tides.

I guess Miami will be flooding this weekend!!!

But I guess we have to blame it on global warming, rather than a Cat 5 hurricane.

I have a sinking feeling we are about to see Superstorm Sandy look like a spring shower.

They are in the tropics this time of year! - hello?!

About 16 years ago we went to Cozumel in the middle of summer, and going into the water at the beach way back then almost burned your skin, felt like going into a very hot, hot tub!

The one minor drawback to living in beautiful weather almost all the time is having very bad weather very ocassionally!

The alternative is to live in the hell hole great white north and having to deal with blizzards, ice storms, bone chilling cold and risk of freezing to DEATH!

So what is your actual point?

The GOOD news is that Irma is a fast/normal mover, and won't sit for days saturating the ground with FEET of rain like the fluke 1,000 year storm did.

Actually Sandy was a big deal because of the Nor Easter/hurricane combination hitting during the worst time tidally. No amount of Prep would have prevented the damage regardless...getting out of the way was the ONLY option. What I fear is this hurricane will follow the East coast upward and be even worse.

Definitely a possibility. This is peak season right now after all.

What is hard for any sane person to wrap his head around is that in the United States people like Auffie are considered normal.

Of course I'm not!!! I would not have been this successful, had I not been leaps & bounds above normal!!!

I seem to have a "knack" for many things. I guess because I have such superlative logic skills.
