A Question To Those That Display "COEXIST" On Their Vehicles

Which TWO do you want to remain while all the others are systematically exterminated???

Just curious.

I think you might have misunderstood the message. Though I most certainly do not have the sticker on my car, it clearly requests the major religions to stop hating each other and unwad the panties,

Systematic extermination would be pretty much the opposite.

But "co" means TWO. Their message is grammatically incorrect if they mean what you say.

What those buffoons should say, is: "Polyexist"!!!

I suggest you call the folks at Webster.....and correct them.

co·ex·ist

intransitive verb \ˌkō-ig-ˈzist\

Definition of COEXIST

1
: to exist together or at the same time

2
: to live in peace with each other especially as a matter of policy
co·ex·is·tence \-ˈzis-tən(t)s\ noun
co·ex·is·tent \-tənt\ adjective

It is vague whether it means two or more than two.

co-

variant of com- before a vowel, h, and gn: coadjutor; cohabit; cognate . The prefix co-, now productively forms new words from bases beginning with any sound ( co-conspirator; co-manage; coseismic ), sometimes with the derived sense “auxiliary, subsidiary” ( coenzyme; copilot ), and, in mathematics and astronomy, with the sense “complement” ( codeclination ).

Sounds like TWO to me!

Sounds like more than one to me...which can easily be two.

And can easily be 100.

If you every had a co-Presidency, it would be two. Any more than two would be a committee.

Thus we have the very idea of....CO existence.

When more than one is involved...it becomes cooperative.

Co existence simply means we decide to accept others....it is not complicated.

I understand you night not understand the concept, but please recognize many others do.

I still say I am on the cutting edge of linguistics with the more definitive word "polyexist".

You mistake is thinking co is a pretext when coexist is just coexist. You're over analyzing the word.
