David quotes on traitors...

Quote:
The 'Founding Fathers' were a bunch of tax evaders and traitors.
Quote:
Italy is a traitor

Quote:
Patrick, you are a traitor, a coward and just plain stupid.

Quote:
But your a traitor corporatist so you'll just keep cheering this on as Wall St. sells out America to the creditors.
(referring again to fellow member Patrick)

Quote:
Why should we care that Obama doesn't take after a traitor?
(referring to George Washington)

Quote:
And we're considering giving this traitor control off the Republic?!
(referring to Donald Trump)

Quote:
You're the fool affiliated with terrorists and traitors but I'm the 1 that's supposed to be ashamed becuase of some random anarchists that crash (any and all, no matter the reason) protests?

(referring to little ole me because I called out nasty anti-trumper protests)
Quote:
Traitors on our own side have taken to cheerleading Putin as part of their effort to undermine Obama.
(referring to anyone that opposes Obama, I guess)

Quote:
Repub traitors attempted to draw out prisoner swap…They should all be shot for treason.
(based on some unfounded claims by a muslim terror sponsor)

Quote:
…they all universally sound like idiots who don't know shit about what they're talking about or traitors who don't care how many laws the violate so long as they get their corporatist wet-dream paradise.
(referring to Tea-Party members)

There are defenses and there are observations. This would fall under the latter.

Those who take the Constitution seriously --- which, of course, I don't --- should check it to see what a high bar it sets for so-called "treason."

There are plenty of sub-humans who are traitors to Nature, Man, and God, but I certainly don't feel qualified to judge them as traitors. I leave it to Nature and whatever version of Absolute Being and Beauty there may be to judge them as those "whom God forgets."

Why anyone would have the bad taste to want to save such a flawed charter as the US Constitution is beyond my comprehension, but if one is serious in pursuing such a goal, then, logically, there is only one way to do it. To save the Constitution, it must be destroyed.

The complex nature of the modern world makes intrusive government inevitable.

Granted that the antiquated Constitution of the Founding Fathers cannot function as the blueprint of a large, modern, complex nation-state, then the only way that it could function is to break up the United States into smaller, simpler entities in which it could manage to function.

To destroy the Constitution in order to save it might appear paradoxical to some, but during my lifetime the principle that "it must be destroyed in order to save it" has become such a common and repeated feature of American life and tradition that it should be no problem for a true American to accept it.
.

It's kind of like the person that sees gayness in everything..."this person is gay, that person is gay ...this action is gay...gay...gay...gay"

At some point you begin to wonder if they're not in fact...gay.

Both camps try to change the outcome of the election in the favor of their candidate. Its not treason, its called being competitive (a concept lost on socialists). I would call what trump jr. did as bad judgment by entertaining a meeting. but no treason.

Basically, I don't use treason unless it applies, and I don't tend to perseverate.

Wikipedia does have your type covered though...

Quote:
At times, the term "traitor" has been used as a political epithet, regardless of any verifiable treasonable action. In a civil war or insurrection, the winners may deem the losers to be traitors. Likewise the term "traitor" is used in heated political discussion – typically as a slur against political dissidents, or against officials in power who are perceived as failing to act in the best interest of their constituents. In certain cases, as with the Dolchstoßlegende (Stab-in-the-back myth), the accusation of treason towards a large group of people can be a unifying political message.

Legit op research means looking at voting records, speeches, public comments, etc. Anything that involves a criminal violation of privacy or property (this is what got Nixon) is, well, criminal. If this criminal action is by a foreign power its use crosses the line from criminal to treasonous. I do not use treason as an insult but by it's definition. If this had gone the other way you'd be demanding Clinton's head on a spike, I just want those involved in jail.

Obviously the 'Founding Fathers' of the USA were traitors to their legitimate government and collaborators with the absolutist French Monarchy - and, of course, in many cases slave-owners. These things depend upon where you stand rather.
