Ten Bipartisan Ideas For Health Insurance Reform

1. Cut drug costs.

2. Allow veterans to use convenient hospitals.

3. Trim Medicare costs by slowly raising the age and income eligibility.

4. Allow insurance to be purchased across state lines.

5. Limit doctor malpractice risks.

6. Encourage use of technology to cut costs and achieve better outcomes.

7. Consider the costs of patient and caretaker needs as factors in treatments, drug approvals, and reimbursements.

8. Encourage people to think through end-of-life decisions in advance.

9. Self-driving technology development must be encouraged.

10. Encourage personal ownership of health insurance.

Aufgeblassen, please reconsider your #3 proposal. It's worse than a “cut off the bottom half of the blanket and sew it to the top”concept; it would be net detrimental to our nation.

If enacted, it would increase USA's:
Aggregate medical costs.
Numbers of uninsured persons.
Numbers of uninsured persons using hospital emergency rooms for their their primary care needs.
National poverty.

This is certainly not a “bipartisan idea”.

The U.S. Congress passed our Medicare laws that was signed by our president and federally enacted because prior to Medicare, commercial insurance enterprises didn't and couldn't service the medical needs of our elderly population. USA's health care would be improved to the extent that we reduced the eligibility age for Medicare enrollment.

Respectfully, Supposn

Aufgeblassen, #1 is a bipartisan goal with no agreed upon proposal to achieve it.

#4 There”s no legal hindrance for an enterprise to incorporate within a state but to perform all, or effectively almost all administrative tasks elsewhere. Insurance companies don't cross state lines because they choose not to do so.
