John McCain: Itís time Congress returns to regular order

Congress will return from recess facing continued gridlock as we lurch from one self-created crisis to another. We are proving inadequate not only to our most difficult problems but also to routine duties. Our national political campaigns never stop. We seem convinced that majorities exist to impose their will with few concessions and that minorities exist to prevent the party in power from doing anything important.

Thatís not how we were meant to govern. Our entire system of government ó with its checks and balances, its bicameral Congress, its protections of the rights of the minority ó was designed for compromise. It seldom works smoothly or speedily. It was never expected to.
It requires pragmatic problem-solving from even the most passionate partisans. It relies on compromise between opposing sides to protect the interests we share. We can fight like hell for our ideas to prevail. But we have to respect each other or at least respect the fact that we need each other.

That has never been truer than today, when Congress must govern with a president who has no experience of public office, is often poorly informed and can be impulsive in his speech and conduct.

We must respect his authority and constitutional responsibilities. We must, where we can, cooperate with him. But we are not his subordinates. We donít answer to him. We answer to the American people. We must be diligent in discharging our responsibility to serve as a check on his power. And we should value our identity as members of Congress more than our partisan affiliation.

McCain participated in mass murder in Vietnam and has been a faithful slave of of the War Machine and its vampire hold on the American society and economy.

Hell will be a less livable place when he goes there.

don't worry. he's not a mass murderer. killing in war is killing but it is not murder, per se.

plus mass murderers are in a different section of hell than the traitors and cowards, so you should be good either way.

He was also a pilot...probably never knew if he killed anyone anyway.

List of bombs in the Vietnam War

Quote:
By the time the United States ended its Southeast Asian bombing campaigns, the total tonnage of ordnance dropped approximately tripled the totals for World War II. The Indochinese bombings amounted to 7,662,000 tons of explosives, compared to 2,150,000 tons in the world conflict.
The bombing of civilians in Vietnam by the satanic USA War Machine far surpassed Nazi bombing of civilians in World War II.

And it was for no other reason than to suck unimaginably vast amounts of money and resources into the pockets of the the owners of the Military-Industrial Conspiracy.

Anyone who participated in that demonic enterprise and does not admit how evil it was is no different from Germans who still supported Nazism after World War II ended.

Just curious, were you one of those fine upstanding Americans shouting slurs (like baby killers) at vets returning from that war?

You should look up the definition of "traitor" in the US Constitution --- I am obviously not one --- only in the perfervid imaginations of "people" like you.

But even if I were, I would be only a traitor to the US political system --- but "people" Like McCain and those who support him are traitors to Nature, God and Man.

In truth I don't know if you are a traitor or a coward . But you also don't know what is in the heart of McCain or any other soldier, sailor or marine. I know that there are good and bad in the military just as there are good and bad civilians.
