Six Ways America Is Like a Third-World Country

Six Ways America Is Like a Third-World Country

Quote:
Although the U.S. is one of the richest societies in history, it still lags behind other developed nations in many important indicators of human development – key factors like how we educate our children, how we treat our prisoners, how we take care of the sick and more. In some instances, the U.S.'s performance is downright abysmal, far below foreign countries that are snidely looked-down-upon as "third world."
A tongue-tip taste of the truth for those too brainwashed to see the obvious.

Granted, the U.S. certainly has problems (more so as of late) but we are an excellent place to live and have a very many positives. Would you like me to bash on Canada?
Thanks from Aufgeblassen

If you can make some sensible criticisms on Canadian affairs, be my guest.

I honour truth --- not jingoism.

I started this thread because in another thread Auffie insulted me for daring to suggest that the United States had some aspects of being a third-world country.

I quite agree with you, Auffie.

Canadian Oligarchs and their bought governments are better than American Oligarchs and their bought governments only insofar as they have less money and power to corrupt their country and oppress their citizens than their evil American counterparts have.

I have no desire to be critical of your home.

Unlike you, I welcome criticism --- reasoned criticism, of course.

I see....so you feel just dandy issuing unreasoned critique in my case however. Or have I displayed some aversion to criticism I am unaware of?

If you indeed welcome reasoned criticism I can certainly provide it for you...but not your country.

You can't be LIKE a 3rd World nation. You either are or not. A member of NATO or independently allied to the US? 1st World. A member of CSTO or independently allied to Russia? 2nd World. Neutral or hostile to both sides? 3rd World.

People saying 3rd World (Switzerland!) when they mean developing nation (Somalia!) annoys the **** out of me.

Auffie, your dictum exemplifies the barbarism which is so prevalent in the USA.

The barbarian may have much loot stuffed inside his felt tent, but it is just piled up trash; it is without order, and Order is the essence of Civilisation. Your vaunted wealth is merely "vain, confuséd treasure".

His mindset and intelligence no more reflect upon his country that your pretentious self grandeur does your own.

Don't forget that I was a refugee from the the Evil Empire and know it quite well. I maintain that his mindset and intelligence do reflect upon his country, since people like him are legion, as I know quite well from my own experience.

I will grant you a certain tongue-in-cheek grandeur on my part, but certainly not pretentious.

If you think it is pretentious to quote a piece of poetry from memory, then I just feel sorry for you.

As for Canada, you know very little about it if you are not aware that most Canadians consider their country to be much superior to a certain violent, hysterical, bombastic land of crazies south of their border.

And yet, you base your entire ranting hatred of the United States on the personal opinion developed from what is clearly some series of events that effected you, while ignoring the fact that many Americans feel their own country to be superior without being so nasty about it. You in effect create a negative impression of your beloved country that it does not deserve.
