The stock market is a show of how much success the capitalists are have at their exploitation. You can have a strong stark market but stagnating/falling wages, low employment and little consumer spending. It's not sustainable but the crash doesn't happen as soon as the economy slows down. People were making a killing in '29 and '09 all the way up until they weren't but the actual economy took a nose dive the previous year in both cases.
Thanks from numan

Salaries moderately rising. No real inflation.

2017 had a gain in the S&P 500 EVERY SINGLE MONTH. This is UNPRECEDENTED!

What a year.

For the first time, the S&P 500 ended every single month of a calendar year with a gain.

It came very close three times: in 1958, 1995, and 2006, when it had 11 "up" months. The worst year was 1974, when it was positive in only one month.

There was no shortage of news this year — from the threat of nuclear war to unending warnings that the stocks are too expensive — to deter the bull market.

The lack of historical knowledge combined with incredible inherent ignorance and childish mentality are a detriment to this one unrecognized due to the aforementioned disabilities.

The hidden beauty being that using such commentary as above virtually guarantees it will fly above the receding hairline to land upon the intended audience.
Thanks from David

The chart seemingly does not apply to me so far.

Historical knowledge, hey? I'd got the idea that you were an American. Glad I was wrong.

Definitely didn't learn it in school. lol The only bits of Brit history we learn is how the French saved a bunch of rioting slavers and bankers (I mean patriots and with no French help except a few ships at Yorktown) and how we saved them from the Nazis (after they already won the Battle of Britain).

This came up on YouTube a few years back though.

LOL! You really think Britain would have won the war, had we not intervened & stayed completely neutral???
