The most destructive human creation.

It is not nuclear weapons, poison gas, or even warfare itself....though warfare is certainly a part of it's destructive power. Humankind has spent many thousands of years developing this extremely powerful destructive force, fine tuning its ability to kill en mass....one could even call it pure evil.

This weapon of mass destruction comes in many versions, and is under constant improvement. The ways it can be wielded vary in creativity and effectiveness, it can be sinister and selective. It is always active, and has a very short fuse.

This creation goes by many names.....but the blanket term is GOD.

without complex language, could we create weapons of mass destruction, communicate methods of torture, coordinate genocide, etc...?

hint: the answer is no.

however, you could and actually it has been done without a belief in, or utilization of God.

so I guess , when you look at it like that, complex language could be said to be even more intrinsically evil and dastardly than God.

unfortunately you cant measure such a broad concept (globally and interpersonally) as

"it was used for as much good (or more) as for evil"

...for either complex language or God.

so what you are left with is your own inherent bias and opinions regarding whether more evil or good has occurred with each.

Nope, the combination of automobile and traffic is waymore destructive. There is an estimated 5,140,000 deaths caused by traffic List of motor vehicle deaths in U.S. by year - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That means nearly 5 times as many Americans that have died in traffic than in all American wars combined. And the auto mobile has only been around for a century.

United States military casualties of war - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
if you add up the American casualties in all wars since therevolutionary war it equals 1,269,260.

5,140,000-1,269,260=3,870,740

3,870,740 more people have died in traffic.

A battle zone is safer than the highway.

The most destructive creation man has ever seen is Automobile Traffic

That is exactly why I am a traffic police officer.

Farming is the worst, most destructive thing we ever decided to do.

It may ruin someone's day to get a ticket but that might be another day some baby's mom our dad makes it home alive. It's a cause I don't think I will ever be jaded with.

Thing with cars....they are accidents. People do not kill themselves in traffic on purpose.

Very different animal.

Dead is dead. It's not a different result and destruction is a result.

Guys, it is about cost v. benefit. Automobiles produce way, way, way more positives than the negatives, hence why most of us are willing to take the risk to drive ourselves to where we need to be. Automobiles have saved many lives, enriched many, and maybe even led to many more. Looking at just death rates isn't a good measure here.

War has less cost and more benefit than automobiles.

That is not exactly true. You are atheist so the most destructive thing in the world to you doesn't exist. Now if you said religion that most certainly exists even to an atheist.

5,140,000 in one century in only one country. Don't care how you slice it. Traffic is farfar far more destructive to American life than any and all wars ever fought combined.

Religion is guilty for uncountable deaths through all human history. But when you say thatsomething you don't even believe exists ifs destructive, I can do nothing but laugh at you.

I am pleased I can provide you with a smile and laughter....I do however have a question.

Why would it be necessary for ME to believe in something for YOU to accept it?

I do not believe in Allah....but am pretty damn sure some crazy dudes in Airliners did back in 2001. I am not Shiate....but it is likely a couple Sunnis would want me dead if I were.

I am not an abortion doctor, yet if I were there are many Christians that would hate me...and a couple who might blow my head off.

That is still religion. If god doesn't exist how can it cause all of this?

And if you believe the attack on the world trade center was about religion you are severely naive.

Traffic still has war beat at nearly 4 to 1. I know you want it to be God, but it's not.

Holy wars are never about religion. They are normally about international commerce. God and glory are often motivation that is used in theocratic states.

Belief in a God....is the basis for most religions.
A thing need not be "About" religion, to be caused by it.

Traffic "Accidents" are just that, they are not purposeful death or damage. The same cannot be said of the followers of one God or another killing in its name.
