Well, I didn't gather poly was saying anything derogatory about Hellenists religion in the least or about David making up his own God. He was asking if David could make his own idols as opposed to buying expensive ones.
Thanks from Polydectes

an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.

I asked him if he could make an idol, not a god.

Boy you have a huge chip on your shoulder.
Thanks from David

I asked him if hefe could make an idol, being that idols are always made by man.

All religions make their own idols.

It is but I don't sacrifice. I don't have a place to do it and while I suppose I could refrain fro something I love (basically copy Lent) I just don't have the will power. lol

True and I might have to resort to that but I'd really rather have something nice (and something that can pass for a collection of Classical art when my crazy Christian relatives visit ).

So when you say idol you want it to be a work of art as well? Yes those things can be quite expensive.

I had no idea it would work so well. I guess if you are a southern bible beater you are more susceptible to catching "the gay."

Yes well as medieval as they are on religious matters, they're social liberals mostly. Think of the Taliban if they supported civil rights and a social safety net. All the hateful fire and brimstone speech but they'll swallow their pride in the name of 'freedom'. All the same distrust and awkwardness but without the being left alone.

the only thing worse than a bible thumping conservative is a bible thumping liberal, they actually mean it.
