Hear my prayer!

I dedicate this thread to the mighty Olympians and shall share any prayers, hymns and poems they inspire within me.

Lord Apollon, hear my prayer!
Mighty Apollon, Lord of health, wisdom, justice, truth, unerring prophecy and more, I offer you this prayer and call for guidance!
Please lead me to truth and piety, may my journey be as true as an arrow from your golden bow.
Please lead me to tools and knowledge so that I may serve you well. So that I may shine the light of truth on great Terra and banish the forces of Cronus and the darkness and lies they bring.
Please give me strength of body, mind and soul to keep at bay those that would deny you and my own hubris and greed.
Glory to you, Lord Apollon, most beloved of King Zeus' children!

Do you make offerings to accompany prayers?

Hymn in Praise of Zeus

*Oh Zeus, God of gods and King of kings!

I sing out
For you are holy and powerful,
For you are mercy and peace!

I sing out
In celebration of your awesome power!

Glorious is your name
For you are holy and powerful,
For you are mercy and peace!

I sing out
In praise and wonder!
You are the God of forgiveness,
You are the God of wonder,
You are the God of truth!

Oh Zeus, God of gods and King of kings!

I sing out
For you are holy and powerful,
For you are mercy and peace!

Glorious is your name!

Glorious is your name!

Glorious is your name!

--------------------------------------

*Assume the above is set to upbeat music with instrumental only periods between verses.

I've got another done! I've also got a poem slowly taking shape every time I meditate by my alter. I'll share it once it takes shape. I don't think he has much use for barely worthy of being called food Doritos but I was considering honey milk or lacking wine, whiskey.

---

Lord Apollon, hear my prayer!

Mighty Apollon, Lord of light, wisdom, health and giver of prophecy, I offer you this prayer!

I ask that you grant me wisdom and lead me down the right path. That you guide my family to health and prosperity. That you carry word of my devotion to your father, Zeus that he may keep my home secure.

I ask that you bless my endeavors and make me your light in this world. That you honor me with your presence when I seek you out. That you accept this prayer for whatever worth you find in it.

Glory to you, Lord Apollon, most beloved of King Zeus' children!
Thanks from tecoyah

My retelling of the creation myth. I'll be adding more as I finish each section.

Order and Chaos

1)There was nothing and then there was the Universe. Hot, blindingly bright and formless it grew. Soon the Universe cooled and descended into absolute darkness and yet still it grew. Arising from this dark, formless Universe arose 2 gods, Order and Chaos. Order went to work collecting the formless universe and making sense of it. Chaos soon began his own work, attacking Order's efforts and creating form.
From Order's work arose the natural order, according to which all things were forever bound. From Chaos' work arose matter, and then stars. Again the Universe shined yet darkness persisted.

2)Order continued his work making sense of the Universe. Chaos continued his work attacking Order's efforts and bringing form to the Universe. In their struggle a fragile balance was reached and the 2 gods began to tire.

3)In an attempt to banish the darkness and return the Universe to absolute light, Chaos grouped the stars together into galaxies and bound them together with Order's own efforts. No matter how hard Order worked to scatter the galaxies and return the Universe to calm formlessness, he only made the bonds stronger. Still the darkness persisted. Frustrated, Chaos traveled the Universe searching out the darkest places to attack. Yet no matter how diligently he searched he could not find a place truly dark for the light of his galaxies always shone in the distance. Chaos was contented.

4)Chaos continued his work, taking from his stars and forming worlds. Some he sent into the darkness to frustrate Order, others he sent to be the companions of stars and to bask in their light. In these efforts arose Life other then Order and Chaos, unnoticed by both. Life saw their work and battle and stood in awe. Though Life desired the power of the gods, Life knew it was not yet ready and remained in the shadows. Order and Chaos continued to tire.

5)Life continued to hide and learn as Order and Chaos worked and battled. Soon the 2 gods exhausted themselves and slipped into a deep slumber. The balance was broken, Order's efforts began to unravel while Chaos' efforts continued unchecked and without direction. And so Life, having learned all that it could, took command of the Universe and it's many forms became gods themselves. As Order and Chaos fell, the Primordials arose.
