The So-Called "Ark Of The Covenant"

If such a thing REALLY existed,

(A) It was merely a box/container. Why is such a big deal being made about it, rather than what it actually contained!!!

(B) If it really existed, and it was so incredibly IMPORTANT, how could it POSSIBLY just disappear!!!

The fairy tales we somehow have are so incredibly RIDICULOUS!!!

My theory is that: it never really existed in the 1st place.

Any thoughts?

a) It represented God's presence with the Jewish people.

b) most artifacts from the ancient world have "disappeared".

But it is not plausible that something so important would have been "misplaced" for so many years, eh?

Since Moses and the Exodus have all the characteristics of non-factual, legendary mythology (no different from the stories about Paul Bunyan and Pecos Bill), a forteriori the legends surrounding the Arc of the Covenant are equally fiction.

Possibly there was a chest in the first Temple of Jerusalem which contained "sacred" texts, and which might have served as a nucleus around which legends grew, typical of a non-literate, oral society.
.
Thanks from RoccoR and Aufgeblassen

Also it could b3 sitting in an Ethiopian church. Its not so much it disappeared as it is nobody wanting to believe blacks are now God's chosen. The Ethiopians have claimed to have it AND given it's location for as long as it has been 'missing'. The radiation poisoning the local priests suffer seems to back it up.

I've seen some stuff on that possibility. It would be pretty cool if they did have it.

Fun fact: The 1 Ring based on the ring of Solomon (and was even more powerful).
