Are Europeans Pedophiles?

In Europe the legal age for sex is really low - like 14 in Germany, Portugal, Italy and Austria. In Spain its 13!!!1 This means a 40 year old man can legally have sex with a 14 year old as long as it is consensual (without coercion etc).

Does this mean the Europeans are pedophiles? Does it mean it's legal to be a pedophile in Europe?

My point is that it's sick to allow a grown man in his 20s/30s to have sex with a teenager, including a 16 year old, just because it is 'consensual' and there was no evidence of harm.

How would you like to have sex with an adult when you were an innocent teenage child?

There is going to be a level of subjectivity that always comes with these matters. Also, it is 18 in most places in the US, although it can vary from 16 to 18 depending on the state.

And really, how is 16 any less arbitrary then 18? I know you're not making this claim, I'm just throwing it out there.

If 2 people are physically and mentally ready and able to mate and it's not rape, what's the issue? Not attracted to teens? Don't sleep with a teen, pretty simple.

Also pedophilia is 'child love, it doesn't apply to teens (there's another term for that).

At 18 you'll have a higher percentage of the population more mentally stable and "ready". Still not everyone, but a higher percentage.

I'm not disputing that, I'm just saying it's stupid to be mad at the age of consent being 14 yet cool with it being 18. Personally I think arbitrary age limits should be replaced with a test. If you've hit puberty and can pass, you're an adult.

Too many logistical problems. And with some issues it could be seen as unfair.

Washington, Montana, Nevada, south Dakota, minnisota, iowa, oklahoma, kansas, arkansas, mississippi, alabama, gorgia, north carolina, south carolina, michigan, indiana, ohio, kentucky, west virginia, maryland, pennselvainia, new jersey, conneticut, road island, massacussets, new hamshire, vermont and, main are all concent ages of 16.

Wyoming, colorado, new mexico, nebraska, texas, louisana, missori, illinois and new york age of concent is 17

Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango all rate the age of concent at puberty. pedophile is a crime in the USA only when it is so offensive that we cant tolerate it. other countries set their own rules.

teenaged children arent innocent. they have sex with each other, what is the difference if they have sex with a sixteen year old or a 20 year old, its just four years. age gap between me and my girlfriend is five years.

some may say I am robbing the cradle I like to think of it as her robbing the grave.:giggle:
