Boris Johnson chides Mitt Romney over London Olympics

The opening ceremony took almost four hours to finish it off with "Hey Jude" and it was obviously a well-prepared show costing a lot of money and efforts and everything went smoothly and there was no hitch at all. All dignitaries were present including William and Kate because the nation's prestige depends on the success of the London Games and Romney was insensitive to Britons' national pride to host the Olympics and he was rightly demolished by the British press but it was just another campaign stop for Romney which turned out to be a diplomatic disaster and Boris handled it perfectly in his Hyde Park speech.

All true enough. But some of his "concerns" seemed to sound just like what I was hearing on the BBC and other news. He just caused a stink because of who he is and the party he comes from. When the "news" airs all the dirty laundry night after night about will we have security? And will there be a strike, why be shocked and insulted?:)

A low-key memorial to remember those Israeli victims was held about a week before the opening ceremony in the Olympic Village. Israel initially requested the IOC to hold a moment of silence during the opening ceremony but Jacques Rogge went with Plan B to avoid offending the Palestinians and it was the first time in Olympic history that such an event was held.
