I find myself in a really interesting space. I'm quite skeptical of just about everything, but I have had a number of experiences with ghosts that just can't be explained to my satisfaction.
They don't seem to be ticks in my mind or anything odd. I've also experienced sleep paralysis and night terrors, so I can tell the difference between the creations of my mind and reality.
There were also a number of situation that happened to a close family member that seem to indicate something supernatural. She was visited and given very specific information that she wouldn't have had access to. Specifically, it was the location of a the location of a hidden bank account from a deceased relative on her husband's side of the family. He thought she was crazy, until he checked and found the account. There are a few other instances that have followed along this line as well.

Yet I see neither of you have actually shared an experience.
On a different note, I do not believe in ghosts and spirits. But I do believe in Genies and yeah, we are still the most powerful amongst all beings created despite the Genie's magical powers.
Please actually read my post Firz, I did post an experience that a relative had. Mine are fairly boring. Standard haunting stuff with apple pipe smoke, chlorine, and strong perfume. If you would really like to hear details than I could tell them, but I don't think that they are going to change any minds.
On a second note, I think it is interesting that you believe in genies. Are they the same thing as the Djinn. I've heard conflicting reports.

I'm not sure what I believe my strong Christian beliefs prevent me from believing anything to deep about it.

It's hard when your religious beliefs limit you in what you can and can't believe in because things contradict themselves to much.

I think hauntings are real. I live in a 100 year old house and every once in awhile i hear voices. Like one time i was in the kitchen and heard a female voice saying "Hello" like when they knock on the door and get no answer they open the door slightly and say hello. Went to the door and nobody was there.
From my understanding the Bible does say that spirits are real. But it's not too clear on them, as it mainly just talks about demons. But it's possible there are non-demons on Earth too. And if you think deeply about it, demons are supposed to be in hell yet they can still be "roaming" the Earth. So if the evil ones are allowed to roam, why shouldn't the good ones too?
Perhaps God lets some of them temporarily visit Earth to communicate with special individuals...

It's not like you're going to go to hell just because you believe in something that you actually believe in and you didn't know about it.. your post seems like you're being too careful just to not get in trouble with your religion ^^
I don't believe in ghosts though, they're probably against my religion, and even if they weren't, I wouldn't believe in them until I see them first-hand ^^
I don't think believing in such things can even be considered a sin, however attempting to contact those spirits apparently is as it falls within the whole witchcraft and unholy astrology thing. But if you ever did encounter a spirit, I highly doubt it could be considered a sin. On the other hand, if you messed around with something like an ouija board you might be breaking some "restrictions" there..
Yeah, I think I'd agree with Akuma, I mean if you just happen to encounter a spirit or ghost, how can that be considered a sin?
And isn't the Holy Spirit a spirit, and you HAVE to believe in that (as a Christian)? I mean they're both spirits, I can't see the difference..
A better question for this topic would be, is it really true you can't take pictures of ghosts?

(I heard that they appear invisible or "white" when taken a photograph of)When I was back in highschool and was throwing my foot heavily into music and acting there was a building (performing arts centre) that we did it in. While the building was being built a guy died making it, just heart problems, nothing dangerous. Anyway whenever we were in the performing arts centre at random the lights would just go on and off. There was nothing scary about this 'ghost' it was like it was doing it for fun and just wanting attention. I hear about many ghost stories though where the ghost is trying to scare the people in the building, bring them harm.

I actually do believe in ghosts, I mean I've watched a lot of stuff, and I've seen some evidence that ghosts exist, not really evidence, but I'm sure they exist, but like Aliens, ghosts have been magnified much bigger than if there really are ghosts, they must be dead people that are still alive, but can't be seen or touched, I don't know, something like that
Ghosts are with out a doubt very real. Just eacue you can't see something it doesn't mean it's not there does it. Look at al the videos where infrared captures things the naked human eye can not! I'm a believer and have a few stories like some of the above that I've 'participated' in. Usually it has something to do with electricity and the lights being turned on and off.
No I don't. I don't believe in souls or spirits, so it makes it difficult for me to believe in ghosts. I have never seen one, and I have never seen proof of one so there is nothing to lead me to believe in them.

I believe that there is something out there, whether it be a ghost or spirit or soul. We aren't the only beings on this planet, and I truly believe that people continue to walk the earth even after they are gone. Sometimes it because they are angry or sad, and sometimes it's just because they enjoy the memories they've had.

That is a pretty good overall sum up of my 'general basis' beliefs as well mate. If you have an open mind and look into yourself, no matter who you are, you see that there is something else there, the goal is how do we find it!?
