I am several hours away from where the storm made landfall. This morning when I got up, I had to recover the inflatables, pool noodles, and other things from the pasture. There's a couple pieces of tin roofing missing on one of the barns. My upside down tomato plants are history. Being this far from where it hit, I can only imagine what the coast looks like.
Florence: At least eleven deaths reported as storm slogs across Carolinas
Tropical Depression Florence, which made landfall as a hurricane on Friday, has deluged parts of the North Carolina coastline with torrential and historic amounts of rain. The floodwaters are expected to push many rivers to all-time highs and, toward the mountains of western North Carolina and southwestern Virginia, could spur life-threatening landslides.
The storm has been linked to several deaths, according to officials.
