Some of you who have seen my recent posts may think I have it out for Geithner, but seriously after all he has done, how can anyone support this man? At the House Finance Services Committee hearing a couple days ago, Geithner was unable to tell Congresswoman Bachmann how the treasury's recent actions are constitutional. Again, does anyone not find anything wrong with this sort of thing?

Every time I have seen Geithner he looked lost. I never thought he should have been appointed much less get the job. I do think this whole administration feels like conquering heroes after a war. And I choke every time I hear the word "mandate" and that they "won the election".

Uh, so why is Bachmann asking Geithner something that the treasury did last year? Shouldn't Paulson be on that stand? Or better yet, Congress itself. It's quite an easy answer too. Article I, Section I grants Congress the right to legislate. TARP funds were legislated to give authority to the Treasury. Simple as that.

Maybe. And maybe Geithner is in over his head and can't do the job. When he speaks the market goes in the tank.

To be truthful, I think he is not the only one. Government is out of its depth here as Government is not supposed to be in the business of business. This is what happens when Government gets too much involved in the private sector. Perhaps if it continues like this, the people of the United States may have to insist on the appointment of a Watchdog Committee. I am really fearful of what politicians are going to do with 1.2 trillion dollars when they can't stay in budget and are notoriously inept in dealing with finance. Almost the equivalent of putting the fox in charge of the hen house ...
