I guess I'll give it a go...
I'm very philosophical when it comes to politics and it seems to annoy people. I like to break discussions down and figure out what assumptions are steering a debate, define the axioms associated with the topic, and follow the chain of logic to a conclusion.
I feel that consistency in reasoning is more important than the final opinion. Since I strive to continuously learn, and constantly gather new data, my opinion is open to change at any time if the logic is there to support it.
At the basis of my political philosophy are these axioms: 1) I think, therefore I am, 2) rights are inherent to every individual, 3) the basis of all rights is the right to life, and 4) the function of government is to protect the rights of citizens.
