Iceland to consider adopting the CAD

Quite an interesting story- Iceland is considering adopting the Canadian dollar to replace the current krona, which is often seen as too volatile.

Smart move. Canada gains a say in what will become an important energy economy and Iceland gets to stop being the only developed 3rd World nation in the world, an 'honor' they could do without.

Iceland isn't a 3rd world country and "developed" 3rd world country doesn't really mean anything and is somewhat contradictory. On Canada's part this doesn't really have anything to necessarily do with oil as the central bank would still focus on fulfilling the Canadian mandate(s) (and solely for Canada not considering Iceland) in terms of monetary policy.

Not really, Iceland used to be rich and developed. Being as poor as Haiti doesn't make all that infrastructure just disappear.

Not really what? Iceland is a developed country. It is not a 3rd world country, which is what I said. And I have no idea why you are comparing it to Haiti.
