She was a great woman, powerful leader, and excellent example of moderate thinking.

The world is a lesser place today.

She didn't 'pass away' - she was called back to Hell on urgent business. Even under the present gang of Etonian class warriors Britain smells a little better. Let's at least be glad this Quisling did for the UK.

I hear the #1 song on BBC after the news was 'Ding! Dong! The witch is dead!' :giggle:

I am not really well informed of Thatcher's contributions to the world but I know she was well loved in her country.

Just as with most with power to wield....she was loved by some, and hated by others.

Me, I thought she was pretty good at her job....and I would have hated to be on her bad side.

Thatcher was a divisive figure and conservative newspapers like The Economist feature favourable articles about her legacies but the funny thing is that a comedy song mocking her death has taken the number two spot in Radio 1 charts. Some socialists are openly celebrating her demise and in my view, she was responsible for destroying Britain's manufacturing and mining industries by her union bashing and the UK economy could have been better off if she had chosen a different approach to economic reforms in the 1980s.

At the same time she also turned around a very poor economy if I understand correctly. So you might make the argument that things would have been better, but we don't really know for sure- what we do know is that under her, things did get better. I think it is undoubtable that some of her "government busting" for lack of a better term was beneficial for the UK. Her anti-Euro stance was definitely a good thing looking at what is going on now.

I believe it only got to Number 2, and the BBC played a couple of seconds, with a feeble excuse. Something the tories pushed got to 38th, and they played that in full. I think that the Queen has made a very major mistake in attending this nasty tory funeral, involving herself in gut politics in a way that may threaten the monarchy - which is ironic, since it is generally believed that she hated the evil creature, as did everyone decent.

We are now living with the consequences of her 'turning around' the economy, God help us!

Only by racists, bullies and thieves. As in all countries, such trash are loved by the third of the population that is too sick to live.

That's politics for you.
