We saw this on vivid display in just two recent instances: the Buzzfeed story and the Covington Catholic kids story. In both stories, many national media outlets had not just egg but omelettes on their faces because of their rush to judgment before all the facts had been assembled and confirmed.
The losers in this, obviously, are the American public, who deserve but don’t get a fair, balanced, comprehensive picture of their politics from any media outlet.
