Over-reaction?

A single rocket destroyed a greenhouse in southern Israel, killing the single farm worker that happened to be inside.

This is the first act of military violence against Israeli citizens by any groups in Gaza since January 2009. But, um, just which group is responsible, is unclear. Fatah claims responsibility... and, er, so did Ansar al-Sunna. Oddly, Israel seems intent on blaming Hamas.

The Israeli response to the attack was a series of air strikes over Gaza, at least 10 missile impacts and intermittent attacks from F-16s and Apache Attack Helicopters.

Is this not maybe a bit much?

So they launch a massive air raid over 1 guy killed and irrelevant infrastructure destroyed and against an organization that had nothing to do with the attack? Man, I'd love to see the reaction if the Feds were to bomb a TP rally after a KKK organized church bombing. At least I would as long as I wasn't a Fed. :giggle:

Israel is ruled by people that would be in an insane asylum in most parts of the world.

I don't think anyone should be killed... okay, maybe I do. Launching rockets at human beings is deplorable, but so's indiscriminately bombing civilians. It doesn't make it any better, just because the state does it.

I don't think that's fair. Hamas are pricks - they're also horribly anti-worker - but they're not Nazis. I'm a militant anti-fascist myself.

I think some issues causing a lot of strife are the unrelenting settlement-building, the too-liberal use of riot police, the conduct of the military and the quick recourse to violence of the state.

Really, calm down. Nobody here means harm to either Jews or the Israeli People. Least of all me - i'm a non-practising Jew, but was mostly raised Christian, and converted to atheism. I think, not only did the Israeli Government overreact, you did, as well.

Which is annoying, since, although i have very strong feelings, i see myself as quite neutral. :unsure:
