Back in WWII, almost everybody in the USA sacrificed for the war effort. Many things we today take for granted were rationed, and few were able to buy a new car, new house, new appliances, etc. as many factories converted to war supplies.
Fast forward to today: Turn on the TV, and on tainted (AKA Liberal slanted) channels you see and hear of stories of ranchers & homeowners that are smack dab on the border whining about a potential security fence right next to their house or taking (i.e. imminent domain) a minuscule amount of their 100s or 1,000s of acres of their land. They deserve no sympathy. The "Greatest Generation" sacrificed leaps & bounds more "for the good of the country", than these border people potentially may.
Thousands, maybe 10s of thousands of imminent domain events take place in the USA, w/o any media attention. The scalawag media can't resist stories about land buying for border fence, purely to bolster their political agenda, rather than because it is newsworthy - shameful!!!
PLUS, these people will no doubt be PAID super generously for this nearly worthless land.
These hypocrite land owners complain in public about the the potential land acquisition, but know doubt in private will be LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK when all is said & done.
I PERSONALLY know that they will be OVER compensated for their small amount of land needed. We bought a one acre lot (293' X 150') for $23,500 in 1985. In Y2K, the State needed a mere nineteen (19) feet of our 293' lot for road widening. I think they 1st offered us $10,000. Just for grins, I made a counter offer of $40,000 - I was totally SHOCKED they ACCEPTED!!! So we ended up with 94% of our land, and laughed all the way to the bank!!!

That $40,000 of land worked out to originally costing us only around $1500.
