This Youtube video has a different title but this is my title for it because it works for many more issues than the one in the video.
Basically the message is this:

"Waiting for a politician to do the right thing is like waiting for a..."

p.s. couldn't put the link in but if you want to see it Google,

"Monsanto and the Infinite Monkey Video"

It's worth passing around.

I imagine politics would be a straining profession for anyone who tried to stay true to their convictions as there'd be so many groups whose support would be needed to "do good" but who would also have their own agendas, which could be compromising.

scun10, et al,

I really had to chuckle at this a bit. I apologize for being this way.

(COMMENT)

A true representative of the people doesn't have to "be true to his convictions." The great sacrifice that a true representative of the people makes, is to set-aside his/her convictions, and promote the best interest of those they represent.

Contrary to popular belief, we don't elect representatives because their idea is good, but because they can represent our good ideas. And the better they represent our ideas, the better a political representative they are.

One of the great failings of our nation is that we turned the country over to a bunch of Washington politicians that masquerade as honest men/women; but in reality are not the representatives of the people, but their own agenda. For them, it is all about power, influence and wealth; not building a strong and prosperous nation.

Most Respectfully,
R
