First one happening right now. Anyone else watching? Romney is doing well so far.

The "move" to the center seems to have been a great strategy at least in the little time since the debate.

It was a crushing blow to Obama and Romney was clearly well-prepared for the presidential debate after spending eight days for rehearsing for it and Obama was caught off guard when Romney went on the offensive on the economy in the first 30 minutes of the debate and Obama had to defend his economic record and he was in a defensive mood throughout the debate and Romney also won the argument on healthcare. As a result, close to 70% of debate watchers questioned said that Romney won the debate, according to a CNN poll.

Gore and Kerry won this same debate in '00 and '04. We all know what happened on election day.

Obama's economic record is a record of failure, he should have avoided that topic. have the debate he wants to have. Play his strengths.

As for him not being prepared, that is pathetic, he is the president, he was thrown off by the loser that couldn't beat McCain. Total failure on obama's part.

Gore only won the debate because the midea claimed he did. The media was gore's lap dog. I just watched that debate, clearly gore was owned.

John karry ha ha ha. Why not mention dukakis.

Yes, that's how all these debates are 'won'.

True, but they couldn't have possably said obama won after that poor performance. they would have lost their little bit of credibility they have. I wonder if they have realized that people stopped watching because of their lap dog behavior.

Who said Obama won? From all the major outlets I saw there seemed to be a consensus Romney won. Also, people haven't stopped watching- just the opposite, this last debate hit a 32 year record in the Nielson ratings with some 67+ million viewers.

I'm not saying Obama won, I'm saying these debates have no baring on the election. By this point most everyone has made up their mind and most of the 'undecideds' are nothing of the sort.

Not true. The undecideds, many of them registered independent, carry a lot of weight. The single mother demographic is still also very undecided according to some recent poll/story I saw, can't remember from where. That is one of the demographics that is undecided simply because they haven't had time to pay attention to the election and are still up in the air about it- for demographics like that, the debates matter.

I'm not saying everyone has decided but a lot of 'undecideds' are ether not voting or are voting 3rd party (and you know how bad the media is at tracking minor parties). A typical pollster would ask if I was voting for Obama and Romney and list me as undecided when I said nether. Multiply that a few million times and the 'undecideds' really aren't important.

That is not how undecided numbers get decided- at least not across the board. Look at the methodologies. When you see undecided numbers like this from a variety of sources and you see how close Obama and Romney are (especially with error%) and the amount of time until election day, you see that the undecideds are extremely important: http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/2012-general-election-romney-vs-obama

The people who were Romney or Obama all along are probably going to stay that way- its those wavering that will matter in making the difference between winning and losing.

Is a way to give the challenge a voice, it wasn't about Obama it was Romney's night. The president participates so it isn't just a ra ra meeting for the challenger.

It does serve a purpose, just not who the better man is. Most people are decided going into the debate. But romneys performance excited his voting base. Maybe get him some moor votes.

Why would Medieval Iberian Muslims vote for Romney? :D Sorry, I couldn't resist.
