HEADLINE: Report: 92% of Afghans don’t know about 9/11; 40% think US out to destroy Islam

OVERVIEW: A new report says that almost all Afghans never heard of 9/11, and another 40% of the population think that the US is in Afghanistan only to destroy Islam.

Before we put too much stake in this poll lets first consider the following;

"According to the Human Development Index , Afghanistan is the second least developed country in the world."

"UNICEF estimates that more than 80 percent of females and around 50 percent of males lack access to education centers."

"Literacy of the entire population is estimated at 34%. Female literacy is 10%."

I wonder how many Afghans have telivision? Or better yet internet? Considering that most do not even know how to read, my bet would be not many.
