Thousands of cities participate in "Earth hour"

Over 4000 cities across the country and millions of people participated in the recent "Earth hour." The event, which is held annually, consists of conserving energy, especially by turning off lights over the one hour period in order to raise environmental awareness. A lot of major landmarks from the Empire State Building to the Eiffel Tower also participated in the event.

It is nice to see the world come together for a good cause such as this.

Yeah, I can turn off my lights while I'm watching tv lol. I use energy saving light bulbs so I suppose 30 minutes is good enough.
