1. ....Just let it marinate for a moment that the President of the United States discusses learning things from books with palpable disdain. He thinks it's for suckers, so much so that he could not be aXXed to learn much about COVID-19 until he literally contracted it. (He did, however, know it would spread through the air and be very bad quite early on.) No wonder large swathes of the White House and the Republican leadership have been swept up in what increasingly looks like a super-spreader event the president orchestrated last week in honor of his Supreme Court nominee. (That list now includes Kayleigh McEnany, the White House press secretary, and her two aides.) These folks really are too lazy and too stupid to do the job, which unfortunately involves "reading" and "learning" things. The president has spent a lifetime skipping the homework—or the taxes—and pulling off cheap scams to plaster over the rotting woodwork. The difference is that now all of us have to live in the same house.

2. Ironically, the harshest criticisms of the president "of lies and cheap scams" came from two of those spineless GOP apparatchiks.
During the US President's 2018 meeting with Kim Jong Un in Singapore, Mike Pompeo passed Bolton a note saying Trump was "so full of shXt".
During the 2016 primaries, Latino GOP Senator Marco Rubio called Trump a con artist: "I would prefer not to get into a fight with other Republicans. But I would much more prefer not to turn over the party to a con artist like Donald Trump ... If you're a Republican, and you don't want your party taken over by a con artist like Donald Trump, unite behind us."

Marco Rubio is constantly repeating a new Donald Trump attack line
Donald Trump, Marco Rubio stressed again and again and again, is "a con artist."

Pompeo mocked Trump as being 'full of s--t' during his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, according to John Bolton's new book
In his book, Bolton describes several incidents in which the president's top advisers mocked him behind his back for his apparent missteps.
