Twin Lakes Should Thank/Congratulate Zimmerman.

The Twin Lakes Retreat where George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin owes a great deal of gratitude and congratulation for George. Not only did George, in defending those guys, uphold the state's security procedures properly (in spite of misinformation from the Sanford Police), but he also showed a lot of guts by challenging Trayvon Martin. As a former security site supervisor, I know that this is one of the facets of security work where guards often falter. But Zimmerman was right there doing the job, without fear (at least initially).

So what honors is Twin Lakes going to bestow on their knight in shining armor (I mean that), for being out there in the trenches, and defending their butts, while they were safely home snuggling up to the fireplace, with a can of Bud ? Huh ?

Well, how about it, Twin Lakes. You OWE George a major commendation. What are you going to do to thank and congratulate him ? And get out from under that desk, will you ?

As well shown in other threads, Protectionist has proven himself to be a genius of satire.

No obsession there except for humor like the best "provocative" comics on stage.

No satire. I mean every word. Why wouldn't I ?

And we in the George Zimmerman fan club, DO believe that George could be our next Governor here in Florida in 2014. He has a ton of support from Whites, Hispanics, and gun owners (which is almost everyone in the state).
Think it couldn't happen ? Forgot about Jesse (the body) Ventura, already ?;)

Zimmerman Case: There IS NO CASE!

The entire case of George Zimmerman being charged with murdering Trayvon Martin is a SHAM. In a nutshell, you have a scenario that can't be proven to be or not be self-defense, and as such there shouldn't be an arrest. And there wasn't. Sanford Police chose to not make a charge until the race-riot, threatening loudmouths showed up. Only then did they decide to charge Zimmerman.

So now we have this case which isn't really a case, going through the motions of a trial. And we have a prosecution that has no way of proving Zimmerman didn't shoot in self-defense, putting up a make believe case. And how might they do that ?
It appears that they are engaging is a prosecution by complexity. By calling a very large number of people to testify, on just about anything you can think of, and by filling the courtroom with mind-boggling arrays of details, they hope to complicate the whole thing so much that nobody (including the jury) can make head or tail out of it. And with the all the details turning the whole thing into a undecipherable mess, they hope to paint those details up as being favorable to a conviction.

So if this is the situation, then why do the cable TV news networks talk so much about all these details ? (college courses, the gun, forensics, the medical examiner, the voice of the screams, bla bla blah, etc) Why not just call it like it really is, instead of going into it in immense detail, like they've been doing. The answer is, that is what cable TV news networks thrive on. Controversy (where there isn't any). Details (which are unecessary). All of this gives them lots of stuff to talk about, and that's what they do. Talk. And it hardly matters to them if they have it right or not. Just getting people to watch and selling advertising time is their thing.

I'm surprised the prosecution didn't send in experts to discuss George Zimmerman's shoelaces, his wall paintings, choice of furniture, sports teams he roots for, his favorite colors, and choice of ice cream flavors.

Well, there's always the appeal to look forward to and, about 5 years from now, the parole hearing. :D

Agreed.

OTOH, wouldn't it be ironic if someone shot Zimmerman as he was out walking home from the 7-11 and that person claimed it was self-defense, thereby getting off scott-free?

Could happen.

Absolutely! So we're agreed that if a young black hoodie-wearing male is found standing over Zimmerman's body some dark, raining night and all he says is "He attacked me", then you're good with letting him go given there is no evidence the kid attacked Zimmerman first, right?

Certainly. And it's not a matter of me (or anyone) being "good" with it, it's a matter of that just happens to be how the law is. Without any proof of guilt, there nothing the cops can hold you with. That's why Zimmerman's arrest is improper.

Also, in the Zimmerman case, as the criminology professor Captain Alexis Carter testified, even if Zimmerman was an "aggressor" who still could justifiably shoot in self-defense (and the witnesses and Officer Smith's testimony confirmed that Zimmerman was in a self-defensive position. Have you been following the trial ?

Disagreed the arrest of Zimmerman was improper. Lots of people are arrested and not even charged. It's just part of procedure when one is suspected of a crime.

The problem with the case of Zimmerman shooting an unarmed kid was the failure of the police to properly collect and preserve evidence as shown by the ME's testimony. The body and other evidence laid out in the rain for 3 hours flushing all DNA evidence, literally, down the drain.

Since the law is obviously has some loopholes, I expect Florida and several other states will move to tighten up their self-defense and SYG laws in light of this case.

1. I should have said he shouldn't have been charged.

2. What good do you think DNA would do (in light of everything we've heard?)

3. I don't know what you mean by "tighten up". Florida won't budge on self-defense or SYG. They're rock solid. And they're not going to change one iota, just because a bunch of race hustlers were able to coerce some politicians. Rick Scott might have sway over State Attorney, Mayor of Sanford, a few others. He's a pile of crap to the legislators and the people they depend on for votes. This state is gun rights BIG TIME. Look for Zimmerman to be Florida's next Governor.

2. It might have show if Zimmerman's DNA was on Martin's arm or shoulder from being grabbed from behind or being punched in the gut.

3. I'm very supportive of self-defense rights and gun rights. However, when unarmed people can be shot down in the streets and the shooter allowed to go free simply on their say so that "I was attacked", something is wrong. $1000 says Zimmerman won't be elected Governor no matter how many of his adoring fans vote for him.

Maybe something is wrong, but something would be wrong also if criminals could go around attacking people and killing them, without those people having the means to defend themselves.
