Views of Anti Globalization!

Hi every one, i am really enjoying here and becomes very happy when some one start arguing, post on my thread

Lets start our debate on globalization, whether it is good for mankind(especially for 3rd world countries because they represent 70 % of world population)

Well, in fact all countries and economists are in favor of globalization but with specific reservations....

If we look to globalization it really help the mankind in terms of quality and quantity Commodities, but some of third world countries and developed countries criticize globalization!! they criticize it on the following points:

1- Normally the poor countries see it as a foreign cultural dominance or cultural invasion towards their own culture.....

2- Poor are always poor because they export only raw materials while the rich gets maximum advantage by exporting them finish goods.

3- according to rich countries, due to globalization, it has taken away their jobs !!!!

4- According to many studies due to globalization the income inequality and poverty has been widen up in poor countries...

I always get in trouble when I say I don't like "Globalization ". So I will not say it.

"Globalization" as a phenomenon is not unique to this decade, this century, or even this millennium. As technology and communication has increased, so has trade and it has brought the world closer together. What we often term "globalization" is the mere exponential growth in this process.

I do not think it is bad. Trade helps countries grow and markets to innovate faster. People in countries like the US might put it down because of things like "outsourcing" but what they often do not realize is that such outsourcing often helps Americans through cheaper goods and not only that, but it often raises many more people out of poverty in exchange for a few low labor jobs in the US. If the goal is increased utility for mankind, globalization is undoubtedly good. If we want to play these little flag games where we think the people of one flag are more deserving than another, the argument might change. Personally, I believe that even through the lens of a nation, free world trade is a net benefit. There is a lot of strong evidence to support that claim too.

The standing point though is that even if one feels globalization is not good for a particular nation, there is not much anyone can do about it. Protectionism can't stop it and will only hurt the domestic people. The world is getting smaller and we should embrace it.

Music to my ears! We should embrace it, because if we don't the world will be in bigger difficulties. Ignorance will probably always be there, but there's no reason to stop fighting it, because if people who do accept differences in society do not fight ignorance, there will be more wars and more fighting because of the lack of understanding between people from different ethnic backgrounds.

Globalization means I can work with clients from the US and get paid well, while the web business in Romania is collapsing because of the recession and our Government's idiotic moves. Globalization means I can move anywhere in Europe to live for instance and, with some effort, in the USA, Canada etc. Globalization means I can travel anywhere in this world and believe me we're really using this chance.

So far I can only find good things about this

Global-scale commerce is certainly nothing new, but the scale of it these days is totally unprecedented. It used to be the province of the elites, but now anyone with a few thousand bucks can go anywhere in the world, stay a bit, and come back a few days later.

An exponential trend undergoes a qualitative phase-change, where it goes from increasing but mostly flat to shooting upward. The trend before and after may be the same underlying phenomenon, but it's impact is of a different nature entirely.

Maybe I didn't choose the best words, but my point is that the pace of global trade growth and volume of global trade is higher now than before.

if I may say the spread of ideas in early civilization has throughly improved the current state of everything we base our country on today and for that matter our rights if it was not for the spread of the idea of written law ( hammurabi's code ) then our nation would not even exist and this was all made possible by globalization. Think about it this way if we had not accepted other cultures then we would be a third world country who never won the spacerace because we of the lack of innovations made by those other cultures who we never had contact with.
