We DID land on the moon

Ever since the images of man stepping onto the surface of the Moon broadcasted around the world, many people claim to know that the moon landing was a hoax.

The theories of the entire landing was filmed in a studio somewhere deep in the desert have floated through the grapevine and with the advent of the internet, the theories have only spread much quicker and further.

Many people have shown that we have been to the moon, only to have the conspiracy theorists say "no" and continue on with their own off the wall theories that have no scientific facts.

I don't see why we would fake it, or how so many people could have kept quiet over the years if is was faked.

Personally, I think it was real, even if we'll never go back cause they are cutting out the space program we can continue to fight our wars.

That's the thing, there is so many people that believe that the moon landings are fake. You can lay out mountians of evidence to prove to them that man did go to the moon but they will flat out refuse to believe. They come up with weird and very un-plausable theories to make even the worst crackpot rethink themselves.

we have now imaged landing sites on the moon, found our flags, and almost reached the resolution to see tire tracks from orbit.

Imagine...actual Conspiracies!!!

Seriously folks, some things are simply embarrassing. They truly serve no purpose other than portraying people as a bit less than normal...bordering on unstable.

I submit to the crowd, that there is a difference between questionable reality, and complete nonsense.

I would enjoy actual theory, that questions and even refutes accepted storyline. Makes me think rather than scoff...or even sounds somewhat viable as an alternative to accepted reality.

To my mind, a conspiracy deserves respect...even thoughtful evaluation.

Most of what we see here is easily debunked....so challenge my perceptions, damage my beliefs, trash my reality.....

But do it well!

I've never seen anyone argue the moon landing was fake (at least to a degree that convinced me that they weren't just joking). Anyone in this forum? Nope.

If there are actually people who think the moon landing was hoax, the ironic thing is that landing men on the moon is actually far more difficult than they can imagine. And, preventing whistle-blowers in a big conspiracy is even more difficult.

YEAH WE DID!

oh well there are the photographs of the landing sites from the Lunar reconnaisance orbiter showing the bottom bits of the craft still there.

and there is the fact that every nation with radio telescopes tracked the landers down all the way to the surface - including the Russians - who would have cried the biggest foul ever had they been faked given the political situation at the time.

Here are some debunkings of the "proofs" conspiracy theorists may throw at you:

The fluttering flag - the flag flutters MORE in a vacuum than on Earth because there is no air to damp down it's sprig motion

THe Radiation belts - the Van Allen belts are not gamma radiation (needing lead shielding) but particulate radiation which has difficulty even penetrating paper

the illumination - reflection of the sunlight from the moon surface and also from the Earth can account for some illumination of areas that would otherwise be dark.

Shadows pointing different ways- have been shown to be due to different gradients in the ground at those points.

True but not in this case. There is no flag on the moon, it was an aluminum model made to look like a fluttering flag.

I don't see why this would be faked and to be honest years ago back when we landed on the moon technology wasn't as good as it is now so I'm sure you would be able to tell if it was a fake.

It's been established the Apollo 11 astronauts were in low earth orbit when they claimed they were half way to the moon. It was faked because of the "space race" and the Cold War. No nation has ever traveled more than 400 miles into space (including our space shuttles), due to radiation from the Van Allen belts. We can't get there today, and aren't planning on doing so anytime soon. It was great for technical superiority claims.

Moon Rocks. Landing footage from the moon. The Live Broadcast. Other nations. Even if you could shenanigan your way through the first three in a manner that isn't laughable... that last one? Why would Russia not cry shenanigans? Why would all the countries being given "fake" moon rocks not bring that up everytime they got tired of the US's Team America nonsense? Don't you think the Taliban or the North Koreans or China would have put that out there ages ago?

Until recently I never did buy into the whole "we didn't go to the moon" conspiracy. But after having seen some pretty good evidence to the contrary, I am just a little bit skeptical. However, even if we did not go to the moon, we certainly have the technology and know about to do so.

I just watched a program the other day about this theory. I myself think we actually did land on the moon. I can see no real reason for them to even want to try and lie and make this a hoax. I really find it quite silly for it even be questioned this many years later.
