There is no such thing as a dignified death. Just the process unseen or seen to varying degrees, we all shit ourselves and babble nonsense when the end comes. When we die 'dignified' we're either alone, drugged into calm silence or have a caretaker cleaning up after us. When we die 'undignified' nothing is actually different, death is simply shown in all it's glory.
I agree there is no dignity in death.

What is the helium method? It doesnt involve a plastic bag does it? I'm going the Nembutal route. It's quieter, I believe.
I worked as a nurse and those deaths were the first i saw close up. Those deaths educated me, obviously, about how death happens and how it comes to all of us.
Helium is an inert and invisible Gas that when inhaled instead of oxygen puts a human to sleep before suffocation and death. Likely there will be a bag involved to contain the helium.

As virtuous men pass mildly away
And whisper to their souls to go,
Whilst some of their sad friends do say,
"The breath goes now," and some say, "No."

So let us melt, and make no noise,
No sigh-tempests nor tear-storms move....

---John Donne, Valediction: Forbidding Mourning

As the night breeze awakes
The chill licking bones
Crystals frozen in times end
Cracks in the skin of life, exposed
Not seen or known the final page
Perhaps one in a series
Volumes encyclopedic but vague
Awaiting our last line in anticipated sentencing.

Gotta admit, if suicide to escape terminal illness becomes necessary, that seems like a fine way to go. Still not really dignified to suffocate, just sanitized by the drugged into calm silence method. You'll still shit yourself when your system shuts down and all the muscles keeping your liquid bits inside relax.

I get euthanization and support it fully but I refuse to romanticize death (or accept its inevitability, however likely it may be) just to make myself feel better about it. Death is the failure of life, the victory of disease and the end of hope. Just becuase it'll probably happen doesn't mean I should accept it any more than I would any other deadly disease. I don't call life quits as soon as the flu hits me, death can **** off too.

The excrement issue is very easily solved with a day of fasting and elimination of waste before action taken...an adult diaper might also be employed.

Matthew Scully-Hicks is found guilty of murdering 18-month-old adopted daughter

I agree there is no dignity in death.
How about this to prove your point... some guy beats the living crap out of his "adopted" 18 month old girl.

Fitness instructor guilty of murdering toddler he adopted two weeks earlier

Two weeks after the fitness instructor and his husband, Craig Scully Hicks, formally completed the adoption process, the “delicate” little girl was beaten and shaken to death.

She died in hospital on May 29 last year, four days after being admitted with several broken ribs, a broken leg, bleeding on the brain and a fractured skull.

I hope the bastard dies in prison having recieved the same.

I am utterly disgusted by the cruelty that some people can inflict on any person much more on a person who is so young helpless and innocent. That amount indifference to human life is beyond words. I personally think a slow painful death is too good for this person.

Personally I prefer to leave retribution to karma rather than damage my own. Unless of course it effects my own, then I become karma.

My response isn't that of Retribution it is of frustration. This is a situation that I can do nothing about my heart breaks for the innocent lives lost my hair bristles at those who take them but in all sincerity this is a cry powerlessness nothing I can do can stop this. Yes I can open up my home to innocent lives that have been abused and I have. Many people have. That level of compassion is among the most beautiful things within humanity. It isn't enough to erase the taint of Rage. The only way I can find to do so is it in the way I did

Don't forget that monsters have usually suffered unspeakable and vile abuse as children.

As the Old Testament so ungenerously but truthfully says,

The sins of the fathers are visited upon their children, even to the third and fourth generation.

indeed. Back when I worked in the prison I heard one of the psychologists put it in quite eloquent and simple terms for his audience. Hurt people hurt people.

I guess some people simply stare into the abyss too long.

Interesting.. I have never heard that verse used that way, but theology often perplexes me.

But the full effect of death never struck me until my beloved brother passed away in April of 2016. It was a bizzare sudden illness that took him after only 8 days in the ICU. Just 8 days before his 37th birthday. It was then i realized, barring some accident I will see everyone I love pass before me.
Better start loving people younger than yourself.

And yet the Satanic War Machine of the United States government rackets around the world murdering millions of innocent civilians, torturing them, starving them, denying them shelter and medical help --- and yet, all this elicits no similar outrage in most people.

Odd, very odd ....

I am reminded of Stalin's dictum:

"One death is a tragedy, a million are a statistic."

Are there are mini Things That Kill many people my brain just simply can't cope with that amount of outrage. I only get one turn on this planet and as callus as it may sound I can't be outraged over every single death that occurs.

There simply aren't enough hours in the day. Or days of my life.

That's not how human emotions work. You know this so drop the faux outrage.
