A few years ago in my back yard, I killed our rooster that would crow at 3 AM!!! I got tired of it, and loaded up 17 rounds into my Marlin 60, got pretty close, and started rapidly firing. I know most if not all round hit target, but when I was out of ammo, the rooster was still alive just sitting there panting. I nearly panicked - what do I do now!!!

Fortunately, soon its head flopped over, and it was a goner. :smug:
Spray and pray for a chicken? You couldn't even eat it.

No, it just wasn't worth fussing with, as cheap as chicken is!!!

Our chickens were "wild" in that they preferred to scratch for bugs in the yard over eating chicken feed, so we quit buying it. The rooster might have tasted "weird".

Although we did eat the eggs. :D
When I was raising chickens they tasted just fine.
