Dear followers of liberal causes and morals,

It has come to my attention that some are facing a crisis of faith. From the liberal bible we read the following righteous and just verses that identify and preserve our clear goodness.

Virtues 14:10 Thou shalt not condemn any religion except Christianity. You may condemn, mock or otherwise ridicule Christianity with abandon.

Causes 13:5 Thou shalt espouse and further feminist causes and rights at all times.
So how is a devout and morally righteous liberal to handle this apparent disconnect?:

Nigeria: Boko Haram Leader Admits Kidnapping Schoolgirls - TIME

Answer:

* condemn the crime but at no way shape or form are you to say anything even remotely derogatory about the religion (islam). best if you don't even mention the religion. call them thugs, bullies and or lunatics.

* if forced to acknowledge that islamic ideology was behind it, answer that "yeah but Christianity has been just as misogynist at points!". then point to salem witch trials or some other misogynist activity perpetrated by Christians in history.

I hope this helps.

your priest of liberalism,

I can't stand political partisan politics getting mixed up in religion. I believe Christians are ridiculed politically because they have placed their religion on the butcher block of politics.

In other forums, people that fancy themselves conservative but are really theocratic fascists that wish to conserve nothing call me lefty, liberal and so forth. I am socially liberal, liber means free. Society should be liberated from oppressive laws, regardless of their intent. I am not any kind of "ist" aside from a capitalist, humanist and equalist. I am not part of any direction or bird (left/right wing)

Partisan crap really gets under my skin. People seem so commended totheir team they tend to lose sight that they are independent people capable of independent though and don't need directions and bird parts telling them what to think.

Dearest liberals,

as pastor of our church, it has come to my attention that some are reporting an internal struggle with the recent Ebola outbreak. Specifically, with their conflict of having anger toward a black man for having knowingly brought the infection to our country. Their confict is worsened by knowing at the same time that this anger runs counter to our liberal doctrine.

i must call your attention to our liberal bible; specifically, sharpton 5:12

though shalt never disparage a black man for any wrong-doing.

we must stand fast to this verse believers, so in order to reduce the internal conflict i'd like you to instead blame the nurses and doctors who treated the black man. consider that they probably did not try very hard to cure him given he is black.

if this does not help reduce the conflict, remember the CIA invented crack cocaine in order to ruin their black culture. hell, they may have invented ebola even (pssst pass it on).

if this fails, please harken back to slavery and how mean white people once enslaved the black man.

i hope this helps dear ones.

dear members of the liberal faith,

once again i have heard murmurings of despair about recent violence and atrocities committed by followers of islam. some have suggested that we should blame islamic followers for their actions.

let me be crystal clear, you are not to blame islam or its followers for their islamic actions. do not even call them "islamic" actions. defer instead, calling them terrorists. but do not put the words terrorism and islamic together in the same sentence...others have said, "isn't there some inherent problem with this faith if it so often leads to violence, misogyny, rape, murder, etc??" NO, I tell you. you are veering dangerously close to apostasy with this line of thought.

Remember one must not disparage any religion other than Christianity (and by default its jewish predecessor)

So what are you to do, you ask? Divert, divert, divert.

Do not forget that you can actually talk about the crimes of Christianity. Simply acknowledge that this is terrible but once they talk of islam , remind them that Christianity is just as to blame for violence, misogyny, rape, murder, etc. if you have difficulty in conceptualizing how this is done, take a page form our fearless leader....

“Humanity has been grappling with these questions throughout human history. Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place. Remember that during the Crusades and Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. And our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Cool! I think you might be on to something!
Liberalism in the classic sense is the position that "i may not agree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it" the modern so called liberal will shut you up if what you say goes against the agenda. That really is a betrayal of liberalism. You have the right which is classically liberal, and then you have the left, that seems to be about control.

The 'left' encompasses everything from (international) libertarianism to socialism to communism to 3rd Way (an economic model with right wing ideologies associated with it as well) Lib/Soc Dems. Your off base generalizing the left as a whole. That said, American 'liberals' are nothing of the sort. Liberalism is a center right stance.

The progressive label doesn't work ether if attached to the left exclusively. Anyone who isn't a reactionary is a progressive of some sort by definition.

All generalizations have exceptions but that is why it's a generalization and not an absolute. Generally speaking I'm spot on with most of the left.

No, you're on spot with statist leftists. Every libertarian, non-command economy socialist and (lower case c) communist (so 90% of the left) doesn't fit into your generalization.
