Oh, now there's a story and a half.

Afghans, as a rule, are against the Taliban, but they're often against American occupation as well. Farmers in the middle of nowhere now have to raise cash-crops. Previously, they just raised food sources with a few poppy fields on the side. But now, to get by, they have to raise cash crops. Which means communities often can't provide for themselves, since the occupying troops burn the fields. On the one side, they have to provide for their families, on the other, there's a war on drugs. To be fair, the Taliban in Afghanistan are only an issue in Helmand.

Another problem is that the Government put in place is actually as bad as the Taliban themselves, if not worse. So the farmers suffering can expect no help from the people that exist to do so.

That gov't needs to go. I say we call a referendum to ask a few questions:
1. Remove gov't and hold new elections.
2. Create a new constitution and based on it's standards, form a new gov't.
3. Appoint a dictator (elected by popular vote).
4. Accept NATO occupation and martial law until the Tailiban are fully defeated.
5. Become an American territory.

The above seem to be all the viable options and I do think that, due to the situation, all such options should be offered.

Totally agreed, and not only lately, that must be a problem from the beginning of time, no strong Government, the other one is lack of education. The country is completely behind in its development.
