Of course it is not coincidence..freakin' Duh. Neither is BLM or the BS going on with the Oscars. Personally I do not care much about the "Black Mans Plight"...but this does not make me a racist. I also care very little about people who eat dogs in the Phillipines...But, I don't bitch about it or join PETA.

By beginning this thread you make it clear you have a problem with people being black. I have a problem with aspects of black culture as well...But,not enough to complain about freakin' movies.
First you argue adamantly against my theory and now you say its just too gosh darn obvious.

you are a quandary Sir.

by beginning this thread I'm speaking to an observation. My issue is mostly with Hollywood pushing agenda, not specifically with blacks. If Hollywood were using their power to push the agenda of a Chinese or Caucasian president I hope I would call that out as well.

Roots remake.

Why remake Roots? Because 40 years later, the story is still urgent. - Vox

Roots isn't just a historical document or a family melodrama — it's also an attempt to convict those of us viewing it who might have benefited from the slave trade but for the era we were born into. It's a reminder that the reverberations of this particular past are not so very far away from us now, hundreds of years later.

What Kunta misses, what we might miss, until it's rubbed in our faces, is that his entire society is constructed to return him right back to his prison. No matter how fast he is, he can never outrun that.

<<<whispered...you feel guilty...very guilty....very, very, very guilty>>>

<<<the president is good...very good....very, very, very good>>>

Don't worry though fellas.

if you are sick of the good black man (victim who overcomes) / bad white man (oppressor) movies, I have good news for you...

Hollywood is going to quickly transition to an onslaught of good woman (victim who overcomes) / bad white man (oppressor) movies.

so some fresh koolaid to look forward to within a year.

Who says he is pretending?;)
So you think he's actually being oppressed by minorities and women and that this is his legitimate defence?

No, he's creating a strawman then attacking it in order to feel like a victor in some righteous fight that he's not actually fighting. It's like someone who sues after someone says something that could, with some mental gymnastics, be regarded as a personal attack that caused psychological pain. His way has less money grabbing involved but it's the same principle.

As I said, it's amusing.

No. reread the thread. you've clearly missed something.

In a conspiracy thread I am putting forth the theory that the media, specifically Hollywood, consciously or unconsciously puts out movies with the agenda to move the masses to increased positive feeling towards a progressive leader.

what I have NOT done, is argued or even inferred that I am being persecuted , that I have it bad, or that my life sucks. I have not said that blacks or women are the culprits. I have not said that it is minorities against me or minorities against whites. I have ONLY accused Hollywood of propagating an agenda to "win hearts and minds".

Given that, you appear to be the one putting forth the strawman argument in an effort to move the argument away from manipulations of Hollywood toward me vs. minorities, etc.

oh the irony.

I do enjoy a good debate that is on point and about ideas. In my opinion, that is one of the great benefits of a forum. but when it dissolves into the above the fun also dissolves.

Good Day and God Bless Gentlemen.

It was fun.

A Canadian friend of mine says that watching Hollyweird movies makes him ill and gives him nightmares.

I agree with him. I watch a very limited amount of that corporate and militaristic filth just in order to analyze the mechanics of the latest brainwashing influences and techniques.

The problem with your thesis, Arcturus, is that the Hollyweird Brainwashing Machine churns out sex pornography and violence pornography without end --- and usually links the two in order to rot the brains of the ignorant masses.

It is well documented that the Violence and War Machine has immense influence in Hollywood, and that its goals are Nazoid tyranny rather than anything that might be called "progressive".

It's about money, nothing more. Sex, blood, fascists losing and democracy (in that order) sell.
No, there is much more to it than that.

Military influence in Hollywood is pervasive and well-documented.

The documents reveal for the first time the vast scale of US government control in Hollywood, including the ability to manipulate scripts or even prevent films too critical of the Pentagon from being made — not to mention influencing some of the most popular film franchises in recent years.

This raises new questions not only about the way censorship works in the modern entertainment industry, but also about Hollywood’s little known role as a propaganda machine for the US national security apparatus.

Blood and fascists losing covers the military side of things. ;) You try try to make it sound more meaningful with needless analysis but if people didn't pay, Hollywood wouldn't give a shit.

The government piggybacking on that fact doesn't magically make it their idea.

Advertising and other forms of brainwashing make people pay.

It is an illusion to think that most people are in control of their own minds in this, the most manipulative society which the world has ever known.

Granted, the advertising certainly has an impact on human activity (that's the point) but it is hardy brainwashing, any more than any other form of data availability. People are not forced to "Pay"....you do not give much credit to our ability to think. I saw a commercial for a Keurig coffee maker a year before I finally decided it looked like a good idea and bought one, Now I love the damn thing. I also saw one for a neat electric Panini maker...didn't buy it and probably never will.
