1. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) told Breitbart News exclusively that China’s intense international push for global dominance is the biggest threat that America has ever faced, even more substantial than the one that the Soviet Union posed in the 20th century during the Cold War....

2. The Book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, verses 1-8:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

What's wrong with the notion of supplant? It’s in the nature of things that all things under the heavens are transient. Why should nations waste so much time and money to host the Olympic Games if it is wrong for any athlete to supplant a world record holder? Similarly, why should nations host the FIFA World Cup if it is wrong for any national team to supplant the existing world champion team?

In the eyes of Marco Rubio, it seems to be the greatest crime on earth for any country to supplant his "sacred" American Empire. Has he fallen under any delusion that the American Empire is chosen by God?

With his type of hegemonic mindset, how can mankind make any progress? If all humans think like him, mankind will meet the same fate of dinosaurs sooner or later. I wonder whether any British extremist had ever written an op-ed propagating Columbophobia in the last days of the British Empire.

3. The following may be the reasons why Rubio has been so busy tabling anti-China bills lately:

(a) To claim some credits for himself in case the US gains the upper hand in the trade war.

(b) To use his anti-China bills as a political stunt to lay the groundwork for his presidential bid.

(c) To hide his Latino root or origin, bearing in mind that Trump had called Latinos “criminals” and “rapists”.

Instead of trying to be more Trump than Trump, "whiter" than Trump and more supremacist than Trump, he should grab the golden opportunity of gaining eternal fame like the biblical Moses to defend the dignity and freedom of his people (that is, the Latinos).

(d) To use the legislations as a ploy to throw a giant monkey wrench into Trump's trade war antics.

It is easy to pass a bill in the US but difficult to rescind it as bipartisan consensus is required, e.g. in the Taiwan Relations Act. By tabling a number of anti-China bills, Marco Rubio ensures that Trump is embarking on a journey of no return in his trade war antics with China.

4. Trump had told his followers: "We gonna win so much you may even get tired of winning and you'll say 'Please, please Mr. president. It's too much winning! We can't take it anymore!'" With such garbage spewing from his mouth, how can Trump extricate himself from the Vietnam-style quagmire of trade wars without "winning, winning, wining"?

Donald Trump's threat to impose 25% on more than $200 billion of Chinese goods will be his long-lasting, deadly legacy. Once out, it is impossible to put the genie back into the bottle. Even if he won't carry out the threat, the world will not be able to avert the economic holocaust. It will be hanging over the world like a sword of Damocles.

Trump and his hawkish advisers seem to be aware of the mutual destruction of the 25% tariff threat which could be compared to a terrorist suicide bombing in a market, killing not only his enemy but himself together with his family and friends. Future US leaders are quite likely to continue Trump's hard-line stance on China. Once a while we may find a Trump-like buffoon repeating the threat of imposing 25% on more than $200 billion of Chinese goods.

With so many US politicians coming under the delusion that Trump has found the key to trade surplus with China, the US-Sino conflict will last for many centuries to come if not forever. With a growing number of extremists like Marco Rubio, a good deal to America is nothing short of a Chinese surrender. :)
