Screw those who are essential and work??
The Trump shut-down.

If the link provided at the end of this post is correct:
Those furloughed federal employees considered as not essential and are not currently working for the federal government, can tide themselves over by gainfully working full-time if they can find such opportunities. They can also work part-time and/or qualify for unemployment benefits.

Those federal employees considered essential and required to continue working without pay, are entitled to work part-time if they can find work that doesn't conflict with their federal work schedule, but they are not entitled to receive unemployment benefits.

In most if not all cases when federal employees MAY receive back-pay, the state will legally recover any unemployment benefits they paid out for the back-paid period.

In summary, there's no financial remedy for federal employees that actually do work for our federal government during Trump's shut-down.
Does this seem logical to anyone except President Donald Trump?

Refer to:

Many furloughed federal employees can receive unemployment while on temporary leave of absence, but not all. Federal employees who are expected to report to work, even without pay, do not qualify for unemployment benefits. Federal workers should be wary. In most states, as well as D.C., if these workers collect unemployment benefits and then receive retroactive pay, they’ll be required to repay the government.

The bottom line is that it is all up to the obstructionists in Congress to end the shutdown. Until they realize they need to NEGOTIATE, nothing will happen.

PaulSmith69, Republicans and Democrats of both houses negotiated, resolved their differences, and passed a budget act on to the White House. President Donald Trump did not sign it. In this case he's the obstructionist and as long as that same process continues to be repeated, he'll remain being the obstructionist.

I expect eventually Republican senators may become too embarrassed to resolve a bill that their party's leader will not sign. Then due to President Trump's wall, the Democratic House and the Republican Senate will no longer be able to resolve their differences. The Democrats and the Republicans will then join the president and obstruct the operation of our federal government.

In that case, they will all be obstructionists due to President Trump's obstructing wall.

Actually, it is a CONGRESSIONAL, more specifically, House (i.e. Dimm) shutdown. Would open immediately should House pass DECENT Bill - hello?!

1 month down, another to go then shit hits the fan if this isn't resolved. How long will they keep working before walking off the job and bringing down the Federal Government? How long will the poor, sick and starving accept a lack of benefits before they start rioting? How long will the major corporation accept NOT getting their massive tax breaks (becuase the IRS collapsed and didn't issue returns)? This shutdown hits 2 months, we could be looking at a Soviet style collapse here as state governments (at least the governments that don't collapse without Federal aid) frantically attempt to stabilize the situation in their borders.
