This thread is meant to be an archive, documenting the Presidency of Donald Trump. It will not be entirely fair to him as it focuses on the steps that lead to where we will end up when he is gone from the office and focused primarily on where I think we will end up as a country. After each addition to this thread it will be locked to avoid contamination of the contents as it is intended to be educational future data.

Trumps request that an alternative to the ACA (Obamacare) be in place before the law is eliminated was disregarded as Republicans did the following:
Last night, Republicans:
blocked an amendment that would have protected people with pre-existing conditions
blocked an amendment that makes it easier for young people to stay on their parent’s plans until they are 26
blocked an amendment allowing contraception to be covered under health insurance
blocked an amendment protecting the expansion of Medicaid
blocked an amendment that would make it easier for children to be covered under Medicare/CHIP
blocked an amendment that would make it*harder to keep veterans from getting coverage from the VA

Also increasing the debt ceiling by 9 trillion dollars to cover the ensuing costs.

The head of government ethics says Trumps plans for avoiding conflict of interest are "completely inadequate". The head of ethics is now being investigated and is likely to be removed. The "Ethics" watchdog committee was gutted last week and thus cannot do anything about this.

Trumps ties to Russia to be seriously investigated.
"The Republican chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee has backtracked, announcing he will, in fact, investigate President-elect Trump’s ties to Russia.
Senator Richard Burr (R-North Carolina) and Senator Mark Warner (D-Virginia), both the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, respectively, just announced a comprehensive investigation of Donald Trump’s alleged connections to Vladimir Putin and the Russian government. The investigation comes on the heels of Sen. Burr saying that he wouldn’t be investigating the President-elect. However, public pressure and mounting evidence appear to have reversed Burr’s previous decision.
“As part of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence’s oversight responsibilities we believe that it is critical to have a full understanding of the scope of Russian intelligence activities impacting the United States,” Burr and Warner said in a joint statement."

Donald Trumps staff has stated for the record they want to remove press privileges from the White House.
"
The freedom of the press is codified as a right in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, but this means nothing to President-elect Donald Trump. What started as just a rumor has been confirmed by the Trump’s team that they are looking at options to remove the press’s ability to report directly from The White House"

Trumps first meeting as President with a foreign leader will be with Putin.
"A British newspaper,*The Sunday Times*reports that Trump officials have told British officials that the president-elect’s first foreign trip will be to Reykjavik, Iceland, where he will meet Putin for a “summit” on “nuclear disarmament.” The choice of Iceland is likely in emulation of Republican deity Ronald Reagan, who met Soviet*General-Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev on the island nation several decades ago."

Trumps gregarious attitude catches on when a politician decide to use his techniques.
"
A local Republican politician in the posh town of Greenwich, CT was arrested recently for grabbing a woman by the genitals, an assault him and his lawyer characterized as “a playful gesture.” Christopher von Keyserling, 71 and a long time member of the Greenwich town council, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault. He was released on $2,500 bail and has a court date set for January 25."

Trump intends to cripple Medicare and Social Security....basically stealing the money we all put in.
"
Trump administration officials have released an outline of their plan to take an axe to the federal budget, and they’re targeting everything – except military spending. Aiming to reduce spending by $10.5 trillion over ten years, they will accomplish this by gutting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, breaking one of Donald Trump’s biggest campaign promises."
