I try to ignore you as much as practicable.
Why? It is a great mistake, since Numan is one of the best-informed persons posting.
That is why he tries to ignore me as much as possible.

Or rather, he tries to ignore what I write as much as possible.

Being a thoroughly brainwashed American, he can't help but lie, since he sedulously tracks my every post in order to append a brainless non sequitur after everything I write.

Such is the way of the world when one comes in contact with barbarians. ---

for an American to earn the respect of an anti-American one only need deride their own country and heritage and culture.

for most loyal Americans this would be too high a price to pay to earn an ataboy from an anti-American. (who cares what they think?)

For numan it costs nothing.

Numan must have got burned on his tax return or something. lol

America is ****ed up but the stuff he focuses on (power corrupting) is true of every major nation.

To gain my respect he indicated he knew a great deal and had an open mind. If more Americans could manage that your Country would be more respected by the rest of the world. Instead, having elected Mr Trump, they have begun to hate any accepted truth, and this means other people, instead of having discussions with them, just laugh. I wish you could grow beyond your teams and behave like sensible people. And, by the way, I'm not anti-American - just anti bullying fools.

Since you inhabit an at least semi-civilized country, you cannot possibly fully comprehend the poisonous stew of ignorance and self-conceit that has thickened in the USA since the end of World War II.

The nearest parallel in recent European history would be the self-absorbed arrogance of the German military officer class before World War I.

But, of course, the American ruling class, including the military (and exemplified by the immeasurable stupidity and ignorance of Donald Trump) are infinitely less educated and cultured than the Germans were.

The public manners still seem to be better, fair play, though the Brexit tories and their press are trying to create a sort of hysterical mob-rule. What I think is difficult for us is to understand just how deep the 'team' mentality goes over there. Tecoyah, for instance, though highly intelligent, gets worked up about my being 'anti-American' , whereas my political expressions about the State and those who run it here tend to be considerably more forceful. I do hope, by the way, that he won't be offended out of doing the excellent job he does. Who else would do it as well?

Trump has been hugely successful in persuading all American inadequates to rally together in spite and punish their betters by electing a total incompetent to posture as their national leader while the word laughs, blanches or spits. Well done, Senility!

you're part way there ole boy...

Trump has been hugely successful in persuading working class to rally together despite the corrupt media and punish the leftists-elites-hypocrites by electing a brash businessman as their national leader while the world fears a reduction in their welfare they typically received from the corrupt politicians and overly generous US.

What a load of hogwash! He has persuaded all the brainwashed racists (a minority) in a brainwashed working class to accept a ludicrous pretence that a self-obsessed richboy will change anything except for the worse. It is called a death-wish amongst educated people. By 'elitist' you appear to mean 'educated'.

This is why I say if a pro-worker conservative party came along today, they'd wipe the floor with the Repubs. There's clearly rising class awareness that isn't monopolized by socialist thinking, if someone with Trump's message but competent and honest were to come along they'd be swept into power. Unlike the left, I don't have any names for such a person as vote farming charitons like Trump and unrepentant corporatists dominate Right Wing politics sadly. Any such voice is drowned out.

I'm currently reading Nancy Isenberg's 'White Trash', which gives a fascinating account of what the American racist Right has always meant by 'working class' - manipulable scum. As usual, an ignorant, rich racist has persuaded racists without brains or money to vote for aggressive nonsense. What has that do with working people, especially as real working people gave Mrs Clinton the much greater vote?

The "American racist Right" is a figment of people's imagination. It is easy to attack something that does not exist, as it cannot fight back. :giggle:

... for example people from shithole countries?
Example of what? Easiness, attacking something, something that does not exist, or not being able to fight back?

BTW: Who do you consider "shithole countries"?
