North Korea Can Wipe Out the U.S.?

I just don't understand why North Korea has become so daring these days.

North Korea threatened to test what its neighbors believe is a ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States.

I think that they're just posturing. Without doing much research, I know that they basically don't have an economy. If I remember correctly, their main exports are counterfeit US dollars, drugs, and small missiles and guns.

I think their big plan is to get some protection money from the US in return for leaving South Korea alone. I assume they know that we'd happily turn North Korea into a parking lot if given enough motivation. They also think they're pretty safe since we're tied up in the Middle East.

So...standard politics really. I'm surprised that there hasn't been a coup yet. I think that's our plan ultimately. At some point, some enterprising general will step up and unite the starving people. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they will be less crazy.

North Korea has many other things to worry about than to launch an imaginative attack on us. They do however have one of the most sofisticated ground to air defense system in the world. MY friend told me this who was in the airforce. So if we launch an offensive on them it wont be a cake-walk.

North Korea is always just flexing its muscle even though it certainly doesn't have as many as it thinks. They basically have primitive nukes and unfortunately can sell them to not-so friendly people.

The main problem isn't the threat from them to us as it is the threat to our allies.

though as the parakeet said, NK does not have economic system.
they do have a very good health care and educational system.
As far as I know, every child in NK can go to school for free educational in their life time.
every citizen can have free health care in their life time.

their research in weapon and nuclear utilization has never stop.
I sometimes consider Nk government are over craziness.

btw, SK shares same attitude in politics with NK...lol

U.S.A have created special misilies who crash into the attacking missiles so it will be hard, this project has been also made before, now it is better. But I don't actually know why!

I've actually heard about that anti-missile program. I hadn't heard any updates though. If we can figure out a way to effectively scrub large scale radiation, then we're set.

I don't know about you, but if everyone around me had a gun and I didn't, I'd feel pretty scared. So I'd get a gun, just in case. I think that's what these Third -World countries are doing. Plus I believe they think that if they had powerful weapons like us, then they wouldn't be third-world anymore. Maybe some of our wealth will come to them.

Well, they are definitely hoping some of our wealth goes to them. They are hoping to get some aid if they get enough weapons to threaten Japan or South Korea. A war with North Korea would be really ugly and we know it. They have one of the largest armies in the world, since it is one of the only jobs that they can provide. Any conflict would involve massive bombing runs and a lot of collateral damage. The US can't exactly take any more hits to our repuation.

Their agriculture is in shambles, so it's one of their last hopes to maintain control and keep the population happy. Plus, I think their leadership just really wants to play with the big boys.

Parakeet, i knew about the defense missiles but I never knew they had such a large army. I gotta start getting up to date on my reading lol.

I hope I'm remembering that correctly. They have a very large basic army (from what I remember) and I believe their special forces are fairly large and decently trained. It's not exactly the most publicized thing though, just a lot of mumbling from reporters and their government.

I remember seeing on the news about North Korea's increasing army. And if I'm not mistaken, North Korea will launch another missile test. They said if it failed, it can reach Japan and can cause damages and deaths.

This is right on the number for me too. Think the most important part will be US military intelligence knowing what North Korea has in terms of nuclear weapons, and what the targets of those nuclear weapons are, and for the US to have counter-measures ready at all times. But yes, most of it I see also as posturing, and getting financial aid from the US as well as cooperation.
