National Sponsor, et al,

I was once a Republican. But I have not seen any real leadership come out of the Grand Old Party in the last half century.

(COMMENT)

The real danger in Republican Leadership is the havoc it runs on the Economy. I don't understand exactly why, but if the GOP doesn't get off its ass and do something that rebuilds America, circulating money in our own economy, then it is going to suffer greatly. We cannot stand much more of this unemployment, under employment, high cost of education/health care, and the lack of R&D investment.

This is not to say that the Democratic Party is much better.

We could elect Alfred E. Neuman (MAD Magazine) and do better for America than ANY of pompous fools running for President in the GOP today.

Most Respectfully,
R

I have missed 3 elections in over 40 years. One I was out of state and 2 that I was in the hospital. I am having a hard time making myself believe that any of them is worth the effort now. I may go vote for dog warden or something.

There is no one running for president that I would really trust for the dog warden job. So why hold my nose and vote for any of them for president?

Some but the Green Party, Libertarian Party, Conservative Party and Socialist Party USA all have actual platforms.
Yeah, but I don't agree with most of them. I don't don't want anything to do with the Green or Socialist parties. I like some of the Libertarian ideas. But they go too far in my opinion. And some of my Conservative Party people seem to have a "tin ear" these days.

Ron Paul has ideas/substance but he will not be nominated. Romney and Perry are shrewd trying to impress with their suits and with no substance. Cain has been fielded to appeal black voters so that they do not think of Repugs as racists but will never get nominated using sex scandal as excuse. Newt is a crackpot. Rest are too mild to make a mark.

I wanted to be for Ron Paul, but I just can't. After all I helped get his son elected to the Senate last year. Now he has a case of the "tin ear" too.

Perry is very disappointing recently. He seems to have as many brain farts as I do.Cain can't keep his story straight. Right or wrong politicians need to remember tonight what they said this morning. Don't like Romney, but I think if he just stays out of the dust he will come out on top. Poor Newt is way past his sell date. He worries more about selling books and tapes to pay for the "trophy wife". And the rest have already blended into the woodwork.

Now there are my opinions of the morning. If you feel they are beneficial feel free to use them.:giggle:

For people who visit political forums, you guys are embarrassingly uninformed. I suppose it is more about the community than the discourse. Sad.

By the way, if you guys would just pull your collective heads out, you would see that Newt is the ideal candidate. I you had bothered to watch any of the debates, you would have realized this long ago.

Rocco, I am confused on how you think that the republicans run havoc on the economy? This is absolutely the most informed commentary I have read in quite some time.

Ron Paul supporters, I like Ron Paul, but his supporters are the white trash of the political spectrum. They really know how to alienate possible supporters. Add to this that the guy sounds like he is 110 years old, and he loves earmarks quite a bit for being so anti-government and you have a candidate almost as bad as his supporters.

Perry is a moron.

Romney is okay, but he is no Newt.

Nobody in their right mind would support any major party candidate.

David, et al,

Based on what I've seen (to this point), I have to agree.

I haven't seen a single candidate that is really into it for America.

When our choices are Perry (though he's on the ropes at this point), Romney or Obama, you know America is screwed.

I am sure you will get lots of votes for Newt with your "friendly" approach to people. Always good to see if you can insult and make strangers feel stupid.
I am informed enough to know that Newt has no moral standing anymore with people that remember he was cheating on his wife while going after Bill Clinton. Then he made it clear that he is not as smart as we once thought he was when he made such an ass in the very beginning of his campaign. Newt has too much garbage.

I may be the dumb ass of this forum, but even I know that.

And you have a nice day.

Perry shows up and appears as if he hasn't even prepared for the debates. He's wrong on the issue of the illegal alien invasion. Cain was apparently a good businessman, and we certainly could use someone like that, but he appears to know little else. Also, walking around in a pimp hat is beyond stupid. Bachman has made big gaffes but she's right on most of the issues. Pawlenty was the most perfect candidate, but got nowhere because he doesn't have "charisma". Gingrich is a smart, experienced, accomplished, informed candidate, but this stuff of advising freddie mac when he was out of office doesn't sound good. Paul has ideas out of the mainstream. I've wondered why there is such a generally inadequate or low quality of GOP candidate, especially when they get to run against the worst president in US history. Two possible reasons: the better potential candidates who aren't in the race know that they have to run againt the liberal media also, which since the accession of obama has given up even the pretense of neutrality - they kiss his butt every day. Plus, they're probably thinking "who needs to inherit the titanic hellish mess left by obama? Not me."

That is true. I know I don't want to deal with that mess. So I will not run!:p I see you feel the same way. But I wish you would reconsider.:giggle:

If Powell ran we'd have a Repub WH in '13. This current crop just sucks, had high hopes for Perry but... Well it's Perry. Obama shouldn't have a chance but the TP (because it sure as hell isn't the GOP running) field is just so idiotic or too librarian for the Repub base.

Very true and well said. They all seem to suffer from a "tin ear" problem.

That leaves you with the conclusion that they are worst than him , or you did not understand any thing . which is more likely .
