He is one of my senators....and I have yet to decide if he is as bad as Turtleman.

I live in Kentucky, so he is one of my senators, too. I'm not in the least impressed with him.

I was a Ron Paul supporter though not a nut like some of his supporters. Rand though is nothing like his father. I am not sure if I would vote for him. He is his father when he wants to be yet he runs party lines when he want to also. I right now see him as every other politician.

Yea, but maybe that is his plan to get more support than his father did from the mainstream. I don't know, just thought this was interesting- I don't think he would have much of a chance in 2016 though.

Oh I think he is the best chance the Republicans have at this point. I myself did not like Romney in the elect so I did not vote for him he was a weak candidate. I certainly don't like Obama and did not vote for him. I vored for Virgil Goode who I feel was a better choice the either of those two.

I don't think he is the best shot. Far from it. I think he would get destroyed in debates with things like experience, etc. and his national awareness probably isn't very high yet either. I think there are many candidates who give the GOP a better shot- one I'd like to see is Chris Christie.

I like Chris Christie. I would vote Republican again if he was to run.

I got to give it to him he don't take no crap and some of the stuff he says is funny. It would be refreshing to see someone like that in the White House.

Agreed. Another person I would like to see run in 2016 is Bloomberg- I think he has some interesting ideas too and he isn't your typical partisan politician either. I would have to see more of his national policy positions before I supported him, but I would like to see him at least in the running.

I think he should run for governor first get that under his belt then try for President. I agree with his idea's but I don't think he would win just from the Mayor standpoint. Though I could be wrong ;).

Giuliani was in consideration until he said the wrong things in the debates and media. I think mayor of NYC is a whole other beast than mayor of any other city.

In the field Giuliani was in I don't think he would have ever won the Nomination. I think he is a colorful guy though not enough to lead an entire country.

I was just using him as an example of how a NYC mayor can win the nomination. Giuliani wasn't able to close, but he went into the election season as the favorite.

The only reason he was favored was his role in 9/11. There is nothing wrong with that but I still don't think that qualifies one for Presidency. If I am correct a Mayor has never won a Presidential Election. Though I am not 100 percent on that though. I could not any though nor can I remember any.

I supported Rand Paul wholeheartedly until he endorsed Mitt Romney for president. Right now, I still have mixed feelings. Although he has expressed libertarian ideals and free market principles, some of his votes have been questionable, such as voting in favor of applying even more sanctions against Iran.

We'll see what happens in four years if he gets the support that his father did. I understand that he is playing along to get along, but that's contradictory to everything his father stood for.

Oh I agree he has some questionable votes. With his father you knew if a something came up he would vote against it because it went against the Constitution that was why i liked him. He was one of the few Politicians that gave it to you straight no BS.

I am in the same boat as you I am going to watch him and see how he progresses. Time will tell if he is a party politician or if he don't mind bucking the system.

tecoyah, I'm not too far from Louisville, actually. I live about 25 west of Elizabethtown. Hoping to move in spring to the Brandenburg/Irvington area.
