As you can see I'm not very creative when it comes to online handles.
I work from home and political forums are one of my time wasters, over the last year I've registered with a couple of other forums but didn't end up posting much, I spend more time reading forums I'm not a member of than posting in forums I am a member of. I used to love talking about politics and current events when I was younger but now there seems to be an all or nothing attitude regarding politics which didn't exist in the past. How do you converse with someone who says the Democrat Party is Marxist or says the GOP wants to kill old people and eat babies...and they're serious when they say it? You can't and shouldn't even try. Unfortunately this seriously decreases the number of people on most forums who you can talk to.
I don't mean to dog your forum, after all I haven't even taken part in it yet and the criticisms I just gave have to do with other forums, not this one. I decided to register here because I recognize some of the names from other forums and have found those people to be interesting, not necessarily sane in all cases but interesting. I also do not see people who I see on other forums who I consider to be paid operatives and that's a huge plus so I thought I'd give this place a try and see how it goes.
I don't know how to describe myself politically. My right wing friends think I'm a Socialist and my left wing friends think I'm a died in the wool conservative, the truth is I'm neither but because I don't agree with 100% of what they believe I must be against them and not with them.
Anyway, I look forward to becoming more familiar with the forum and the people on it.
