Abuse of power is seldom forgotten or forgiven. Likely this will kill any chance he once had of nomination....which is very bad news for the GOP, as he was someone who might help them win.

In his defense it was his top aides. So giving him the benefit of the doubt, the issue is more what he would let happen under his watch as prez. Forget the IRS, the NSA is the scary one.

The NSA? I'd be more worried about those 'we don't bother with warrants' secret courts and the CIA operating inside the US. The worse the NSA has done is steal the Hoover Admin. FBI playbook.

Health care reform. Adding a new tax on people already in a recession, terrible idea. Refund nasa, remove the moratorium on drilling in the gulf, approve the keystone pipeline. Basically get the boot off the throat of the economy.

Overton window matters. Obama had an opportunity, he took it and it will be a large part of his legacy. Not the best law, but not the worst, and something that can probably be built upon (my views on this have changed since the last time I posted here for the old timers).

The ignorant calls to cut all spending everywhere is an issue. Biggest fight against something like expanded funding for NASA (or the NIH, FDA, etc. for that matter) is this silly insistence that spending needs to be cut right now almost regardless of what you are cutting.

There are many government programs that don't need to be. Home land security, TSA, EPA, DEA. I think the calls to cut spending is for frivolous nonsense like this.

It wouldn't matter what it is for because a bunch of people with picket signs don't have any such power nor are they ever reported about on the media. The tea party isn't a legislative branch of the government and thereof have as much power to dictate spending as the occupy protest had of achieving whatever their goal was.
