i think this guy was a turd who abandoned his post; and other good soldiers died trying to bring him back.

i dont blame the president for making the trade (who doesnt want a perfect record of no POWs when leaving a war) but i hope they (CIA) were smart about it and maybe inserted trackers into them or infected them with short-life viruses of some sort.

I find it likely that over the years the process took the US negotiated with Qatar to allow for not just monitoring (CIA)....but the permission to "Deal" with "Issues"(Drones) should it become needed.

You know that the screwed up part about it for him is, he got out of one screwed situation, and may find himself getting into hot water over the deserting allegations if the army decides to investigate, which I heard on the news they were considering.

I definitely don't like that we freed high risk POW's back to the taliban as a tradeoff for him... not that I wish bad on him, but the taliba's having a field day with their propaganda now thanks to it
