No, not really, myp.:p ;)

Just a bit burnt out...have staffed, admined, owned various political forums and though I've wrapped that for now (all right, still moderating one) I like to have a wander about and see what's going on:)

Thank you for the welcome. I will read a little before making any posts.

What is the age range on the forum? Are y'all young guns here?

Hi there.

Good to meet you.

What are your general ideals?

Libertarian/authoritarian?

Right/left?

Half empty/half full?

Well it is great to have you and I think our ages range because I know some of our members are married, have children, are retired etc, and I also know some of our members are a lot younger and still in school. I am currently a college student, so I fall towards that younger group, but I think we have a couple of high schoolers here too.

Lol...so many questions......but don't you know the fun of forums is to uncover these affiliations in the fullness of time...;)

Humanitarian.

Probably centrist, leaning left.

Somewhat confusingly, I support dissolution of the UK Union and independence for my country, whilst believing global government is probably the best possible future if we are ever to move toward peace...

Always half full, qualified by pragmatism, realism and ability to recognise and work around the ever-present obstacles...:D

I'm also for Scottish Independence. For reasons of democratic accountability. And for the simple fact that the original reasons for the union are no longer applicable. Not to mention the means used to achieve union in the first place.

Yes, well the current situation isn't fair on anybody, is it? England doesn't really have national control of national issues, Scotland does, who know what Wales has (yes and no) and NI it's changing with the wind...;)

I have always supported an independent Scotland, now the devolved government has allayed the fears of many that it was not a viable option, I hope things continue to progress from that base.

What is your story, Dirk? Are you English or German...your flags are somewhat confusing:confused:

Both. Sort of. I'm German but grew up in England and Scotland, along with spending a few months at a time with relatives in Germany. I feel more German than anything else because that's the social atmosphere (and sometimes physical environment) and culture i grew up with. But i think the area of land in the world that a person is born in is quite a trivial matter, personally.

As for the flags: the one on the left is the national German flag (there's a difference between the national and federal flags - the national one is the one usually seen) and on the right is the city flag for Hamburg.
