What do you guys think of Certificate of Deposits? Do you think they are good investments? They are risk-free although they have low yields, they seem to be good places to put money until you have something big you want to invest in.

Depends on the currency in which the cash is, as well as the Bank! Although the way Governments are manufacturing money these days, it is probably better to invest money in fixed assets or essential supplies like food, etc.
