2009 Tax Tea Parties

Anyone got any views on the Tax Tea Parties that were held all over the US? I thought that it was great and apparently thousands of people attended some of the parties. Good part for me is that US citizens are less passive than what people generally think. Hopefully these Tax Parties will lead to something concrete?

I think they were great too! Seems the bloom is about to fall off the "rose".

I think they were really just ridiculed. Especially since a bunch of clueless people said that they were going to teabagging parties

It's their right to protest, but the whole thing was just a hilarious media spectacle. You had the Texas governor threaten to secede, most of the attenders apparently waved racist signs (at several of the ones I heard of), and it just boiled down to a bunch of Republicans being sore losers.

It was their right and I don't think it was any worse than a standard left-wing protest, but it's not going to do anything.

The Texas governor said he could see that happening in the future. But I later saw the so called "reports" that he made a threat. And I watched a lot of coverage that said it was "racist". But saw very little to back that up either. Guess a lot depends on who is giving the "news".

It is more than 50% spin from either side.

I think time will tell who the losers really are. It may be the whole country.

I just hope people will follow up on these and not go into hibernation until 2010.

If it had been the usual Youtube crowd making it, then it would have been hilarious and involved a lot more cursing.
