Miles Kwok, a Chinese billionaire under investigation in the United States, has launched a campaign in recent weeks to incite protests and violence against the Christian human rights activist Bob Fu.
Beginning in late September, protesters at Fu's home in Midland, Texas, held signs, chanted sutras and called Fu a "false priest."

The campaign has alarmed Mayor Payton. Fu and his family are under the protection of local police and federal law enforcement agencies, and claim that the FBI and CIA are "heavily involved" in the investigation.
Why, to the surprise of the news media, could a priest be publicly endorsed by the mayor of Midland to seek asylum by the FBI and the CIA?
If they did as much research as I did, they would see why.
At the beginning of the demonstration, Mayor Payton spoke.
"If protesters enter Fu's property or the property of his neighbors, they will be arrested." Mayor Peyton said.
Did Mayor Payton conduct any investigation of the protesters before making such a hasty decision? Why did Mayor Payton move so quickly to condemn the protesters?
Mr. Fu founded a nonprofit human rights organization, China Aid Association Inc., that provides legal Aid to Christians and describes himself as a missionary priest.
Before Patrick Payton ran for mayor, he was the pastor of Stonegate Fellowship Church, like Mr Fu.
In 2016, when Mr. Payton was a senior pastor at Stonemason church, stonemason raised $6 million, including $3 million for purchases and $3 million to renovate its nightclub in Odessa, Texas.

Indeed, Mr Patrick Payton and Bob Fu have been close friends since 2012. The pastor of Shimen Church has been on the China Aid Association board as a non-remunerate director since 2014.
Now we know why mayor Payton, once the founder and senior pastor of Stonegate church, defended his close friend Bob Fu. One used church funds to renovate a nightclub, and one used the church for political gain.
